Parking can sometimes be an issue if the hotel facing has an event on there is a lot of parking available but people tend to park in the cottages spaces

"Very Good"

7.0

Very clean, well positioned for us. Spacious and had a fridge.

Very hot, no rear windows that could open to get a flow of air through. Nothing for food prep and hotel did not do breakfast nor any food on Sunday do had to go into morecambe for meals. Family members were in the lodges and had no fridges to even store milk for tea/coffee. Very noisy residents at night drinking and carrying on outside the hotel despite it being 9pm shut off. Would be a great place if there were breakfast and meal availability every day, or provide basic cooking facilities and fridges in all units.

"Ideally placed, pleasant accommodation made for a good short stay"

8.0

Just what we needed for our short stay. Bed, shower, large tv & hot drinks facility. Nicely furnished. Convenient parking. Within ten minutes of the beach , shops, bars & cafes. Ideal for our gig date at โ€œThe Platformโ€ to see our sonโ€™s band โ€œ These Wicked Riversโ€.

Couple of small things, mainly about safety. The hot water in the bathroom sink was dangerously hot & no warning displayed. The shower tray although lovely & spacious was dangerously slippery , there were no ridges on the surface. We had to use a hand towel to stand on. Mattress was quite thin & lumpy so not very comfortable.

"Great place to stay, but be prepared"

7.0

The accommodation was big and spacious, very clean and comfortable. The location is very scenic, and the river Lune can be reached via a short walk out of the hotel car park. Beds were made, a double bed and a single bed, and 1 set of towels were available for the week. I stayed for 5 nights, and this was fine for me. As for crockery, you are provided with 3 cups and saucers, and a teaspoon. There's also a kettle, a couple of welcome biscuits, and one night/day supply of coffee and tea sachets. Please note this is not a hotel, so there's no daily cleaning or complimentary coffee/tea/sugar/milk top ups during your stay. The fridge was clean and switched on, and there's a nearby Asda, which is open 24 hours, where I was able to purchase a set of camping cutlery, plates, coffee, snacks and sandwich fillings etc. There's a lot of reasonably priced cafรฉs, restaurants and takeaways in Lancaster, and most of the takeaways deliver to here. Despite my comments in the "what you didn't like" section below, which are more just recommendations, I would definitely stay here again, but will arrive better prepared!

The description of what's available in the room could be expanded on. This might help some people to prepare a bit more in advance. For instance, while there is a clean fridge and a small tabletop drinks cooler, there's no laundry, food preparation, or dish washing facilities other than the bathroom sink. The few complimentary sugar sachets next to the kettle must have been there for a while as the sugar inside had hardened. The milk in the complimentary small cartons also smelled off. It should also be noted that the Golden Ball Hotel, over the car park from the cottages, no longer serves food every day and only serves food for a few hours on the days when it does serve food. Their opening times can be found on Facebook. Mentioning that there's a 24 hour Asda nearby, a few minutes drive away, as well as many other shops a bit further away, might help others to prepare. I bought a set of camping cutlery and camping plates so I could prepare sandwiches each day. A word of caution, please make sure to read the sign over the sink, which warns that the hot water is scalding! It really is!! I considered reusing a salad bowl on my first night, so I decided to wash it in the sink after I'd consumed the salad. After a few seconds of running the water from the hot water tap, it completely melted and deformed the bowl.
