Stellina Village

Great location, great variety of pools, not too crowded, excellent breakfast, great restaurant, comfortable and well equipped rooms.

Nothing to complain about.

Our stay was all-inclusive and breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent. Being only the start of the season, the hotel was relatively quiet which suited us. The main pool is excellent (and deep - 2.6m) and the family pool if perfect for kids - warm and shallow, with plenty of seating/beds surrounding the pool. This part of the hotel is very nice to stay, albeit a little noisy during the day (excited kids!). It's so handy having a convenience store on site for your essentials. I have to say the staff are lovely, in particular the waiters/waitresses and the lifeguard. For some people it may be a little out of town (45 mins to old town) but again it was perfect for us. The walk is hardly a chore, with beautiful views of the sea, beaches and mountains on the opposite side. There is also a regular bus (every 30 mins) to Chania, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Taxi costs around 10-12 Euro. If I was to return I'd definitely stay in this area again as there are numerous beaches with crystal clear waters. All the rocky outcrops are perfect for snorkelling and for kids to explore. The nearest beaches (Anemos Beach/Golden Beach) to this hotel is also more protected than other beaches in the area when it's a bit windy. I don't know how it is in summer but again these beaches were really quiet end of April.

Probably the biggest bugbear was that even though we were all-inclusive, we couldn't order from the main bar (Helios) which is centrally located within the complex - next to the main pool. You had to walk up to the restaurant bar (Kima) to order/collect drinks. It's not a short walk if you're carrying a few drinks (10 mins there and back) and seems completely impracticable to me. I think the hotel definitely needs to have a re-think on this. Smaller things would be that it would be nice to have cocktails served in a glass as opposed to a plastic cup. The TV channel selection was really poor and just seemed to have numerous Bollywood channels (maybe I was doing something wrong??). Also the pull out bed downstairs on the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and really not suitable for an adult. There isn't too much else on the negative front.

Quite and modern place. Well furnished and maintained.

The lack of mosquitoes nets on windows and the fact that the AC can only work with the key in, meaning you go to the beach and at your return the room is like an oven.

Breakfast great but finished a little too early. Location is superb with regular buses into Chania and beach very close. The staff were lovely especially the cleaner!!

There were very heavy building works going on just outside Stellina Village so it was very noisy around the pool for most of our stay. I guess this was out of your control but it did affect our enjoyment a little.

Had a nice big apartment with two bedrooms. A spacious terrace. If one is up early enough one is able to get a nice spot by the pool. As long as you have your morning coffee there. Good breakfast. Close to the beach!

Not worth having all includes! All the buffet food was quite similar. The buffet was not what one would expect from the number of stars at this hotel. The chicken and fish was dry. Only machine coffee and the wine on tap was not good. The pool bar/restaurant Helios is not included in all inclusive. It is said that they have great food there! The gym needs working air conditioning!

Overall nice place, clean surroundings with several beaches and restaurants within walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff. The arranged transfers and taxis worked well. We had a massage that we enjoyed very much. The room was spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed a relaxing week here.

The room was very close to the kiddy pool, for ppl on vacation without kids it is not necessarily a treat being woken up by kids yelling at 9h in the morning. We slept with earplugs so it was ok for us, still sth to consider. Also mosquito nets in front of the windows would be great, we went mosquito hunting in our room frequently.

This was our second time staying here and we absolutely love it! The area is great, close to the beach and supermarkets, but away from the hustle and bustle of Chania. It’s easy to get into Chania, the bus stop is only 2 mins walk away and you can buy tickets from reception. The apartments are well equipped for simple self catering, but we didn’t cook anything, just served simple breakfasts. The staff are so friendly and always go above and beyond to provide a warm, friendly service. The rooms were cleaned daily and the cleaner was so friendly and accommodating . We didn’t pay for catered but we did eat a couple of times in the restaurant, which I’d recommend as the food was of high quality and super tasty. The pool areas are really well kept and although we went as a couple and the hotel was busy with lots of families, it wasn’t overrun and we were still able to get us beds and at some points we were the only people in the pool. We love it here and I’m sure we’ll be back again!
