The apartment was in a good location. The host was accommodating. The rooms were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked.

Location was good.

There were several barking dogs which meant it was noisy at times

It’s quite homely, it’s got two good sized rooms and a very well organised kitchen. Was easy to cook some good meals here and appreciated the coffee maker. Make sure you bring essentials like coffee etc as the market isn’t cheap for imported goods. Bed was comfortable, good AC. We really loved that someone cleaned our dishes when we had left early and had run out of time, unexpected and very appreciated. Also loved the washing line out the back door which helped dry all our swimwear and some handwashing!

The lounge could have used a fan to move the AC from the bedroom, but it’s not a deal breaker. The bathroom is dated and the shower not great to sort temperature at first but you get there. It’s on the edge of town but the town is small!

Our apartment was new and very comfortable, with a nice kitchen in addition to the bedrooms. Casa Soleil is on a dirt road, one half block away from the paved roads of the small town of Puerto Villamil.

The door latch situation was very awkward. We were four adults. We had one key. The door would not latch and stay closed unless it was locked with a bolt. So, if I would go out for a walk and close the door with the key, the others could not leave the apartment without the door swinging open, and they could not lock it. Much of the time we would have to keep the door closed by inserting a folded paper towel or kleenex in the door.

Was a ways from beach and ferry terminal. AC only in main room.

The unit was very well equipped for our stay, and it is an easy 17 minute walk from the ferry. It had high-quality furnishings and was extremely comfortable. Zero issues with hot water and the a/c worked very well. There were always fresh bananas in the little courtyard, and for an extra $10 we could delay our checkout until 2 pm. Staff were super friendly. Lots of very -priced restaurants within a very short walking distance.

Neighborhood dogs started howling and barking like clockwork every morning at 5:00 am, and 2 out of the 3 nights we were there we woke up several times during the night because of barking dogs.

Unlimited bottled water in room, full kitchen facilities

The location, far from town centre. No view. Best to get one near flamingo lagoon and church where all tours start. Laundry charge was usd1 per pound! Not allowed to use washing machine that was next to my room.

Complimentary bananas were good. Proximity to the town was good.

When we arrived to our room we discovered mold all over the bedroom and the smell in the windowless bedroom was terrible. After sharing our concerns with the staff regarding the mold in the room and health implications about the room, we were told there was no other rooms we could have until the next day. After our entire group of 10 people tried to fit us in their rooms, we got to speak with someone else on whatsapp who could help find a solution and there was actually another room open for us to switch into that night. They were not very friendly to say the least, they were very rude and did not seem to care about our issue. After all the trouble and dissapointing experience, they originally told us that the late check out fee was $10 and on the day of our check out they asked for $15. I would not recommend this stay to anyone.
