The Gordon Guest House

This is a hidden gem. This Guest House is alive with history and charm. It's central location in Balloter makes it an easy walk to anywhere in the village, as well as a quick journey to Balmoral and other area attractions. The town is wonderful for shopping, and the hosts are just plain delightful. Stephen makes a great breakfast, and Beth is attentive to anything you could need. Their knowledge of the area and other historical details they share may have you enticed for a bit during breakfast. Can't say enough good about them ! The bed and room sizes are fantastic. The Pub down the street is amazing and welcomes the best behaved doggies in the world. Finest food from India we've experienced was a block-and-a-half away. Wish we could have stayed longer !!

Everything!!!! The house and the host are lovely!!! Good breakfast, superb bed and good location, i hope some day come back to stay more nights!

The Gordon Guest House ticks boxes that I didn't even know needing ticking! From the warm welcome (with homemade cake!!!)' To the very comfortable beds, the charm and whisper of the building's historical past, the great night's sleep, the stunning views and the cooked to order breakfast, I am ready to move in! As a guide who takes guests all over Scotland, this has been one of my most very favourite places to stay and I will be back, with or without guests!

Fab location, easy parking. Lovely big, bright, clean room. Comfy beds. Super big bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Lovely owners, very welcoming, tasty fresh breakfast made to order. Can’t wait to stay again!

Staying at The Gordon Guest House was really wonderful. The two owners, Beth and Steve, were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was clear they are passionate about the house and the area! The rooms were tidy and comfortable, huge bed and functional bathroom. The breakfast was very tasty, and room looks out over the Craigendarroch hill- gorgeous way to start the day! We really appreciated all of the small touches in the house- like walking maps, binoculars, snacks, books, games, and even little emergency contact sheets if you are hiking alone. It felt like somewhere that was created with the guest's full experience in mind, and beautifully represented the town's activities.

Lovely hosts who gave very helpful advice about the area. Very welcoming . Food lovely. Drying cupboard for wet boots and outer clothing. Lovely room with kettle and plenty selection to make hot drinks. Snacks available. Board games and a great selection of books to read both local and fiction.
