Rain Forest Guest House and Jungle Trekking

Upon arriving at the property, I was informed in a disrespectful manner that I could not stay for the initially booked two nights, as there was a minimum stay requirement of three nights. The room itself was smaller and darker than expected, but I decided to overlook this aspect. Unfortunately, the negative experience continued as the staff's demeanor towards me was far from hospitable. To make matters worse, a staff member unexpectedly entered my room for an unclear "inspection" without any explanation or prior notice, making me feel violated and uncomfortable. The final straw came the next morning while walking down to the restaurant. I cant believe the owner said my footsteps were deemed too loud for their liking while they prepared breakfast while their kitchen sounded like a "marching band", so noise. Frustrated and disappointed by the ongoing mistreatment, I decided to check out immediately, foregoing my breakfast, and paying for the additional night I never intended to stay. When I expressed my concerns about their rude and unethical behavior, the owner's true colors were revealed as he angrily threw my money on the floor. Still, the arrogant lady intervened and collected my money I strongly advise against staying at this property, as it lacks professionalism and basic courtesy. There are numerous alternatives in Bukit Lawang where guests are treated with respect and kindness, making their stay truly enjoyable. This establishment left me with a negative impression and, regrettably, I had to seek accommodation elsewhere to salvage my holiday experience. Choose wisely and avoid the trauma I endured at this unprofessional and disrespectful property. If you read some bad reviews before me, you will relate how I feel and my experiences looks like.

A very bad experience. I booked 2 rooms a month before our stay. A week before the owner asked us to confirm our booking which we did. Upon arrival for check in on the day of the reservation, they refused to host us because we had just finished a trek with another company in the same village. Very rude, they let us without any housing at the very last minute. I would really not recommend.

People here were so friendly, they really wanted to make me feel comfortable and met me inquiries. All of them were incredibly helpful and warm and I would love to come back. Also the location right next to the river is just beautiful. And the food there is soooo good

We had an amazing time at the Rain Forest guest house. The owners are so friendly and helpfull. We really felt at home at this place. They can arrange everything for you. We booked the jungle trekking via the guest house and we had a very good experience. We will come back and will definitely stay at this place again!

We have enjoyed a lot! The hostel is excellent, well located to town and river, the food is delicious and rooms are perfect for the value you pay! We feel very well and we extend 1 more night! The place is magic! we also did the jungle trekking with jojo! Excellent guide that know a lot of things about the animals! we were lucky to see many animals so he was all the time trying to find the best spots! I totally recommend the trek with him! thanks for all the staff! they are very friendly and helpful! a place to come back!
