Rain Forest Guest House and Jungle Trekking

I didn’t actually stay here. I was arriving later than planned (classic Indonesia) and contacted the property to organise a late check in. They told me it wouldn’t be possible and that I needed to cancel and book elsewhere… So I did cancel the first night, and when I arrived the next day to check in for the second night I was greeted with “why are you here? You cancelled”. After reminding them that it was them who told me to cancel the first night, they went “oh yes” before showing me to my room. Needless to say, I didn’t feel welcomed and that it was a hassle I was there. I paid that night but checked out and found somewhere with nicer staff to stay. Just because Lonely Planet recommends it, doesn’t mean it’s any good.

Everything was perfect. The staff very very nice, helpful and good people. The cooker is the best and the place is very quiet and comfortable. Probably the best place to stay in Bukit Lawang. They can help you and book tours for you. I recommend this place. Thank you for giving me very good staying!

Great location by the river, lots of outdoor space to sit in, and friendly staff who'll whip up a great juice for you. My room was one of the very basic ones, but clean and great value for money.

We were supposed to stay 3 nights at the rainforest but we loved it so much that we decided to stay an entire week ! The location is great in the village, you can play badminton there and swim in the river 2min away from your room ! On top of that, we booked our jungle trip with them and we were lucky enough to have Jojo and Bim as guides. We felt super safe with them and they know A LOT about the jungle and the animals. They were super nice and fun and it was a pleasure to spend 3 days with them. Thanks you so much guys !

Staff were so unfriendly I was really not made to feel welcome.

Cheap and good location

The lady working there was not helpful or friendly at all. Everything was too much of an ask (including toilet paper! Which wasn't ideal when we had food poisining). We had to ask for a blanket and only got one towel.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The staff were so professional and welcoming. I did the 2 day jungle trek with Jojo and Obay and they were exceptional, so knowledgeable and respectful of the jungle and kept us entertained in the evening with magic tricks and making jewellery for us from plants. The guesthouse has a great location beside the river, with hammocks and seats to hang out on. There is good food at the restaurant and the rooms are clean and comfortable, such good value for money.

You better manage your hotel with management.

The way we were received. Let us waited an hour because the room wasnt ready and then tell us you can't give us a room.
