The ambience

Continental Breakfast needs more choice,like cheeses and meats etc. Also,the toaster was very slow to work!

This was my 3rd stay at the bar convent. Comfortable and very clean room. Lovely choice at breakfast and friendly staff.

The extra steps to the 3rd floor was a bit hard for my legs as I use a stick. The second floor would have been easier but it wouldn't put me off!

Very accessible from train and within walking distance of everything in York. Staff were amazing and very helpful.

Nice plump pillows. Warm. Excellent shower and bathroom. And a cushion as well. Enough teabags for my stay. Quiet. Friendly staff. Great location.

Incredible building with a long history and nicely maintained rooms. The staff was incredible hepful and helped with any questions I had, as well as offered to store my luggage. I particularly like the fact that the room is dry and clean, with plenty of space. Rooms are facing the inside courtyard, and you can't hear the noise from the busy road.

You can hear when people are walking next to your room; there is very little noise cancellation. This might be because the floor is quite old, but it wasn't a major issue during the night.

Everything was excellent, with the added bonus of a kitchen for you to use. The bedroom was very spacious and a view to the outskirts of York. The Continental Breakfast was very good, lots of variety. You could pay extra for a cooked breakfast, which I did one day and it was well worth it. It was minutes away from the railway station and a short walk down into York centre. I will definitely stop here again when I come to York.
