The Captain's Lodge Room Only accommodation

Great location with parking close by. Comfortable room and bed. Adequate for 2 night stay. Tea and coffee facilities.

3rd floor room allocated.

praktischer self-check-in, trotzdem jemand da, wenn man hilfe benötigt. nett eingerichtet, vergleichsweise grosser kühlschrank ein plus. vom haus sieht man das meer, top lage! self-serviced, zimmer wird nur auf wunsch aufbereitet - fanden wir sehr angenehm.

bewegungssensor statt lichtschalter im bad: es wurde beim duschen auch mal dunkel :o fenster schloss nicht 100% - der wind zog rein. zimmer insgesamt eher kalt. wasserdruck eher schwächer.

Clean, calm, with a vintage vibe.

Very basic, no shower (but I enjoyed taking baths), no regular room service.

- Location very close to the beach and restaurants/bars etc - Tea, coffee, biscuits, kettle and fridge provided with ample refills - Nice view of the church (From Room 8) - Handy booklet with local recommendations of places to go

- Not happy the accommodation has a separate parking fee and spaces are not as easy to find as previously told - Top floor far too warm in the hot weather, no air con and no fan - Beds are very soft (partner and I woke up with bad backs) - Mould in the fridge - Very outdated decor - Bathroom needs a major update and the shower pressure and temp controls are awful

The captains lodge was situated in a lovely quiet area of Whitby, within walking distance from the station, Whitby Abbey and the beach which I loved. I saw Rob on a few occasions who was very friendly and helpful.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.
