Chalet Karaka

It had everything thing you would need. From shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer to olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a pepper grinder.

There was nothing not to like. I would suggest having New Zealand olive oil though!

We enjoyed the peaceful location and the host was great and really welcoming and helpful during our stay and also when we needed to arrive quite late in the day at the accommodation. Loved the location and the small town of Takaka has some lovely shops, cafes and restaurants to explore, then a little further away the beautiful Golden Bay which was stunning.

Loved the peace and serenity of our surroundings and the proximity to Takaka area. The sound of the river, the sun parkling on the water,so close to our Chalet, it felt as if you were miles from civilisation. Thank you Ngaire.

Fabulous little chalet, quiet, private, set above a stream. We'll eqipped and close to anything you might need.

Location was just what we needed during our trip to Golden Bay. The chalet was secluded and very private with the nearby stream being very soothing (beware of mossies 🦟 though). Ngaire was welcoming and was soon on hand to sort a problem we had one evening. Problems will always occur and what makes a difference is how they are handled, so thanks, Ngaire. Having a shower with glass walls was a first for me, but a lovely addition.

Mossies 🦟 love me, so having those around was a bit of a pain - I guess they are the negatives of having the stream so near.

I enjoyed the location of Chalet Karaka. It was right next to a river and only a few minutes drive from Takaka.

We were quite surprised at the lack of cleanliness upon arriving. There were dead flies along the windowsill, dirty curtains, and a very noticeable musty smell. It was a shame as the space would have been nice if properly cleaned.

Beautiful tranquil location, views, privacy, nicely presented with attention to detail, well appointed.
