Commodore Guesthouse, Seaside Holiday Suites

Lovely Guesthouse looking out across Rothesay bay with a lovely family as hosts. Rooms and kitchen were well equipped and everything was spotlessly clean. Beds were very comfortable too. Handy for walking into town We hope to return next year

Great seaview, great location and very friendly and helpful hosts. There is also the lovely Seashell Cafe as part of the accommodation. They do lovely coffee and food!

First time in The Commodore and from the minute we walked in we felt so comfortable. Amazing hosts, fantastic cafe and the perfect location with stunning views. Cannot believe we hadn't tried this place before now but anyway, we will definately be back. Missing it already. We 100% would recommend staying here, you honestly won't be disappointed.

Don't have a dislike

The location is great for the ferry and town centre, but still set in a quiet area. Apartments are comfortable, spacious and have great views of Rothesay Harbour. Kitchen surfaces, tables, bedding, bathroom shower/loo, towels etc are clean. Free street parking right outside guesthouse. Ive stayed here two years running and would happily go back.

Downsides, which are minor to me but could matter to some.....I booked using Booking.Com which stated breakfast included. This is not a cooked breakfast every morning. It's a small welcome pack inc. a loaf, a small carton of milk, a little pot of jam, four individual butters, two small cartons of orange juice and some teabags and coffee/sugar sachets. There is a cafe downstairs but you pay separately for breakfast in there. This year's Scalpsie apartment needed a more thorough clean before letting guests in. Thick dust in the bottom of ornamental dishes/vases etc in the lounge area. Cobwebs in various locations including bathroom plus a spider. My friend lost his keys and shone his phone torch light under the sofa bed in search of them. No keys but more dust. There's also a pretty but rather thin rug by the fireplace which kept rucking up so could cause a fall. Also there's no stove top or oven but there is an air fryer which I've never used but luckily my friend had. Last small thing regarding Scalpsie suite. The kitchenette is in the lounge area so if you have people using the sofa bed this may be an issue privacy wise with anyone coming in to make food/drinks from the bedroom. Last year's Ettrick Suite has a small separate kitchenette which I personally preferred.

No breakfast specifically put in search. Ex& breakfast wanted cooked breakfast dirty smelly bedding for sofa bed not made up as requested children had to accsess bathroom through my bedroom no en-suite grubby I’ll equipped kitchen with NO cooker chipped plates

Very welcoming greeting, beautiful views and easy walking distance of town and ferry.
