Nice location in the narrow streets of old city, just above Manshi Ghat. Room plain but cozy and clean. Bathroom ok. Recommended!

Good communication from Sonu from the moment we booked. We chose the Marigold Guest House because of its closeness to the ghats. We knew in advance that we needed to navigate the alleyways ourselves, as cars can only go so far. My friend was not well when we left and her mobility poor, so Sonu helped us to reach an Uber, mush appreciated. Highly recommend the boat trip with Sonu.

If your mobility is poor, the stairs up to the rooms could be a problem.

The Marigold Guest House is in a perfect location for exploring Varanasi. Right above the ghats and just a few minutes’ walk from the main ghat. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We especially loved having breakfast at Aadha-Aadha cafe in the same alley, just a few feet away. The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of room to put our things. While the room has a private bathroom, it’s across the common patio, which was surprising, but not a huge issue as few guests venture up to the rooftop and the other room on that level was en-suite. Mr. Sonu, the owner, was super responsive and helpful throughout. It was an easy booking and easy stay, and we will definitely stay at Marigold Guest House next time we visit Varanasi.

The only slight negative is that our room was a three floor walk up. So it’s not recommended for people with mobility issues.

nice Arabic decor, small but modern bath with electric hot water heater, comfortable retreat from the streets, great location near the main ghat, manager met me at the boat and helped with my baggage

The owner is very resourceful. He went out of his way to guide us about places to eat and shop.
