Marigold Guest House

Varanasi’s lane system can be challenging, but the owner does give good instructions. The room was comfy, there are lots of stairs to the top floor!

i was in varanasi for 3 weeks in three different guest houses. marogold was the best one. the owner is a very friendly guy, the place has charm, life, spirit. i liked it a lot. the location is great if you like to be in the middle, near the ghats. the rooftop is inviting to do yoga or to chill out

Amazing location and awesome host. The place is simple and well taken care of. The host is extremely nice, helpful and takes care of you, especially if, you know, you act like a decent human being. The location is absolutely perfect, and sorrounded by places for eating, breakfast etc. Would absolutely come back.

A bit difficult to take a really warm shower, other than that, nothing to point out

Location is very good and bed very comfortable. AC works properly and the room is clean. Bathroom door probably never was clean, but the rest of the bathroom was acceptable.

We chose this guesthouse because of the reviews telling how nice and welcoming the owner and the staff were, but we had a huge disappointment. The owner was absolutely intractable and rude since the moment we got here. On booking it is announced that they offer Airport transfer and, when we arrived, at 9pm, everything went well with taxi taking us as close to the guesthouse as possible and the owner coming to receive us and walked with us through the narrow alleys they take us to the guesthouse. Still, never looked back or talked to us all the way, and when we got to the guesthouse he got in and let the door close in our face without even looking back. After that, we allways felt very unwelcome. They were very bored and ill-willed about talking to us, never looked at us and didn’t even try to be nice, especially after we told we would do a boat tour with other company. When we asked for the transfer back to the airport at 6am the host answered us that “everyone has a family” and that “money can’t buy everything”. Dont recommend.

Clean, well kept, nicely decorated, comfortable, great location, cool, quiet, friendly staff

Guest House close to the centre. Small room but comfortable and clean. The owner is very helpful and kind. Top view on the roof, where it is possible practice yoga with Ganga. Good experience.

Convenient location.

Room was not yet cleaned when we arrived, which we were happy to wait for however were then chastised for not checking out ourselves on time.. Property owner blamed us for damage caused by monkeys, not us. One thin sheet, poor value for money as compared to other places we have stayed in India :(

No breakfast, Flash remains u/s. Power supply cuts off very frequently, stairs are too stiff.
