Dune Towers - Boutique Nature Resort

Unhygienic and Unprofessional Experience Avoid this hotel at all costs! The chef was involved in unhygienic activities, and the owner has hired untrained staff. Our stay was ruined by the chef's abusive behavior, flirting, and uncleanliness. The gate was closed at check-in, and the guard was rude. A fly in our food was the final straw. Unprofessional staff and poor management make this place not worth the money.

We were amazed by unique building, garden and pool with great rock design! The secluded location provides perfect relaxing atmosphere, just 5 minutes to virgin beach, nature is all around, but still not far town for more amenities. Individual care of the staff is very helpfull. The meals are delicious.

I have nothing to complain about

The resort was very beautifull. Nice main area and pool. It is a little bit isolated and the beach is oke. The food was excellent and the staff were the best.

Outstanding service throughout our stay. Thanseem and his team attended our every request; some had f the friendliest staff you will meet. The chef is incredible and breakfast and dinner were delicious, they have just put in a brand new pool 2 weeks ag which is a great addition and it has a kids slide. Stylish rooms with brilliant decor and good A/C.

The flies can be at times a bit too much so probably not for very small children but I know from speaking to Thanseem they are trying alternative methods to reduce the flies. They do have an area to eat and sit upstairs which is hidden from the flies. By the time you read this they will have probably solved it!

The room was fine and the food OK.

Not a great welcome - the manager was more concerned about the passport etc. formalities than anything else. No water in the room, no wifi information either. We got both in the end, but nobody seemed bothered. The location was disappointing: you have to scramble over high dunes to get a view. Dinner was very expensive by Sri Lankan standards. We had come from a 5-star hotel where we paid only just over half for the equivalent meal.

Beautiful and clean place, Very lovely helpful staff. The owner is very lucky to have them. If it wasn't for the manager I would have left the day I arrived.

Where do I start? The place is a building site, the swimming pool isn't even built yet its just a sandy hole in the ground the so called private beach is a ten minute hike away over sand dunes and totally desolate with nothing but rubbish around. There is no fridge or kettle in the room I had and the nearest town restaurants and ATMs are 5k away. The other problem was that the place would only take cash payments, no credit or debit cards, which means that you are stuck there with nothing to do apart from walking a desolate beach or paying for excursions to spend your days there. With no way of getting a cup of tea, apart from paying for one from the premises. Drinking water had to be got from the reception/Restaurant. Another thing I almost forgot to mention is that the two nights I spent there I didn't have one restful night sleep because the bed mattresses were like sleeping on a stone floor. As I said earlier, if it wasn't for the staff I would have left the day I arrived. I did have another 3 nights booked for later this month, but I've cancelled them. The reviews I read about the place persuaded me to book my stay, I think I would really question the the reviews authenticity.

It’s a very unusual property in an unusual location. The isolation gave us our own exceptional beach (some days we were the only humans !) . The food is excellent and Thanseem is a fine host. The rooms are big and have a great vibe.

Nothing to dislike - but a few things to think about. Access to the beach requires a certain fitness over the dunes. And because the flies come out more netting is needed at meal times.

The accommodation was so amazing and the best from all of Sri Lanka after one month what we traveled. I have to recommend Dune Towers everyone who want spend a little time alone and far from everything with private beach and amazing staff here.
