Cyntwell Guest Accommodation

Lovely host that made us feel very welcome and at home.

I was warmly welcomed by Wendy. The room was lovely. The bed was so comfy. The bathroom had a bath which was so nice. The room was quiet and the location wonderful.

Located in a quiet part of old Padstow, but within sight and easy walking distance of the shops and harbour, Cyntwell combines period detail with bright, tasteful decor - perfect for its Cornish location. Our room, with ensuite, was spacious and immaculately clean - probably, the cleanest we have encountered, anywhere. There was a good range of hot drinks provided, with tasty local biscuits. Milk, chilled in a little flask, was a nice touch. (A corkscrew was also included, in case a guest wanted to bring something stronger!) Wendy, the lovely, helpful owner pays great attention to detail, whether it is putting a motion sensor light in a bathroom, to avoid flailing about in the dark, or using her extensive local knowledge for suggestions for car parking spots. (Few places in Padstow have dedicated parking.) This thoughtfulness particularly shows in her practical approach to the fact that she does not serve any meals. We did not find a downside in this, as Padstow has got to be one of the food capitals of the South West, and much of it is open for meals from breakfast time, onwards. If you wish to bring back something to eat, there is an attractive little dining room provided at Cyntwell with your own personal table and the use of a fridge, for goodies from the shops and delis! Really, we couldn't fault the place, and would return, any time.

The welcome we received was exceptional and the friendliness was lovely. It was a beautiful spot and the flowers outside the front door made it very special. The roses smelt heavenly. There was no breakfast but we were provided with fresh milk every day for making tea and coffee. Everything worked so well.

Perhaps a possibility to make/have breakfast in the pretty dining room eg bowls, spoons, plates and knives.

Perfect location. Very clean and beautifully decorated.

I think the steepness and the narrowness of the stairs might be daunting for some less mobile visitors.

Perfect location for enjoying Padstow. Wendy's communication was faultless; she was the perfect host. Comfortable room with everything you could possibly need provided.
