Lodge Ueno Ski

Cozy cute place with a nice host. Highly recommend.

Great location, central to everything. Easy walk to slopes, easy walk to dinner. Even easier walk to Onsen directly next door. Heater in room with plenty of hanging and drying space for ski gear.

Very basic. Restricted bathing facilities, however Onsen next door. Building interior was dated but sufficient. Futons were a little thin compared to other Japanese style accomodation we have tried else where.

There was a massive amount of mould in the bathrooms and the showers

Clean and comfortable, spacious room with a really good heater. Great location 5 minute walk to the main gondola, we stayed for 2 weeks and will definitely come back to stay at Ueno Lodge again

Walls are super thin so could hear the person snoring next door the whole stay.

Great location: close to the main area of Nozawaonsen with many restaurants and bars but also close to the ski slopes. And also close to the bus terminal!

The receptionist was often gone. When trying to check in, we had to send a message via booking.com; another time we couldn't get the key until another guest sent a message. We also wanted to rent gear at the lodge, but again, nobody was at the reception. The rooms are very simple, and so is the bath that is available on the first floor of the lodge. Our room wasn't cleaned nor the tea refilled. We've had much better experiences in other ryokans.

It's Nozawa Onsen... You'll take anything you can get for that close to the mountain. The manager/owner was super nice and helped us get ski tickets cheap through the lodge. It was clean and as advertised. Traditional Futon beds but was too thin for me.

No hot water in the room. Two open showers and Onsen that were clean and worked well. As with everything Nozawa if you don't book breakfast or dinner in advance you can't get a booking, even at this lodge.

Location is great, a 3-5 min walk to the ski lifts, and the town is right down then street. The lodge was very comfortable and clean.

Facilities are a little outdated.
