The Banana House

I stayed at the Banana House for three days and i was surprised by the kindness of the owner, she was very responsive and she helped me out more than once. The place is spacious, the ac works fine and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean. I would come here again. Rent of motorbike and taxi service is offered. Around the area there are some good warungs.

Only "not so good thing" is that the hose of the bidet in the bathroom was leaking so it created a constant pudle of water.

Novi is a great host and organised all our many drivers! She even provided Sarongs for a wonderful ceremony attendance. Very clean comfortable rooms in nice garden. We had a great stay! A few local Warungs close by. We were offered scooters but declined!

Nusa Penida is very beautiful & a 'must see' but very spread out so you need to have a driver & car to go everywhere which after a few days gets expensive as rates substantially higher than Bali. If you are OK driving a scooter on really narrow, potholed roads then you will be OK! 😂

Very nice sisters running the place. They use WhatsApp to organise everything for you. There is no gojek/grab on the island so you will need a driver. They sorted a driver for us "Taxi Black" - he's worth a shout out as he was very friendly and good fun to be driving around with. You will need extra cash for this service. Room is clean and basic. Ok in comparison to other accommodation in Bali. Little around so I would stay 1/2nights max.

Little bit more expensive than mainland but that is to be expected. Room was perfect for the night.

everything. this was the worst accommodation I have stayed at in 4 months of solo traveling Bali. I read the reviews and was expecting a good value for the budget but absolutely everything went wrong on this trip and the staff did nothing to accommodate. after asking 4 days before arrival for transport at the boat harbour, and a confirmation that they would pick me up, I ended up waiting for over an hour at the harbour just for them to tell me they can’t take me with luggage and I have to pay for taxi. during all of this negotiation they tell me I can cancel my stay if I like (where the f would I go as this was the day I arrived ????? and had everything planned through them????) I then go through the hotel to get a scooter (after they tried to increase the price from the agreed upon 50 to 80), this ends up being a long back and fourth and finally I get a scooter which breaks down less than 2 hours after having it. they tried to blame me (when in reality the battery was shot), and still charged me the entire price of the scooter even though I ended up spending a total of 4 hours on my one day in penida waiting for them, whether it be from at the harbor or when I was stuck at keling keling with no ride. the room was honestly not clean and had a weird smell, and there was a spider in my bed. this was the first stay in Bali that I have had that was genuinely awful and I recommend you stay anywhere else.

My stay here was truly impeccable! The family running it is extremely nice and helps you arrange everything you could possible need; from transport upon arrival to snorkeling tours. Another amazing benefit here is the breakfast (especially the banana pancakes). For only a small amount of money you have so many great options to choose from, all including fruit and coffee/tea. Furthermore, the rooms are clean, spacious and simply offer everything you could possibly need. Thank you Novi and everyone else for making my stay on Nusa Penida unforgettable!

We had a really nice stay at the Banana House. Our room was spacious and had a big, comfi bed. There was also a cosy terrace with a view on the beautiful garden where we got delicious banana pancakes as breakfast. We could also make use of the fridge in the kitchen, which was handy. Nofi was always available if we had any questions. For example, when we rented a scooter from the guesthouse, we noticed that it had a flat tire. Nofi came over immediately to fix the problem. We would definitely recommend the Banana House if you stay in Nusa Penida!

We had some insects in the room, but Nofi provided us of a spray which helped :)
