Guesthouse Kyoto Arashiyama

As described. Quiet and conducive…

Excellent hospitability provided by the host. We arrived early in the morning at 8am and the check in time was 3pm, so we decided to leave our luggage and he welcome us. They are the one who put our luggage inside the room and it was soo very helpful as our luggage was so heavy. Friendly, accomodating staff, willing to help with a smile. He is very polite and helpful. The location is few minutes away from the hanazono JR station. There is 7/11 nearby and 12mins away from mcdonalds. I think we did the best decision to book with them and to stay away from busy streets and experience traditional japanese room. ❤️ the staff was very polite as he gave as souvenir before leaving. We will definitely stay with them again when we come back to kyoto, Japan. 😊

Quiet location, about 30-45 mins bus ride to Kyoto centre while the train is faster. Friendly looking host. Some nice welcome snacks.

Don't mean to rate so low and hurt the feelings of the host but honest feedback could lead to improvement: Very uncomfortable bathroom, the bathtub is very small and deep. The host could do some good cleaning as the guest house did not look clean - For example the dusty desperate tray, damaged looking with stains wardrobe, dusty staircase to the apartment, main door with spider webs on top.... (photos attached) Toilet is not the modern, standard Japanese toilet. Overall we didn't enjoy our stay, couldn't wait to leave. Don't know why the review is high on this property.

Friendly host and a very nice stay.

Our stay at this place was very pleasant. The flat was clean, well-equipped, and exceptionally comfortable. The host was super helpful. Although it was a bit further from the city centre we had a great experience getting to know local vibe. For us it turned out to he one of the best places we have stayed in Japan. Overall, it exceeded all our expectations, and we would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Neat and welcoming space in a quieter neighbourhood. Felt like a maintained home with comfortable bedding. I enjoyed exploring the area. Stand out was the owner of the guesthouse, even though I only had a brief interaction I could feel his warmth, he gave me a restaurant recommendation and pamphlet when I mentioned my plans for the day :) the snacks on arrival and tea while leaving were also lovely.

Very welcoming and kind host, which treated us with kindness and respect. He even helped us, carrying our luggage up to our room (yes, there are stairs). Quiet neighbood, felt like staying among locals.

It feels farther away from the tram/train than expected. Might be an issue with lots of luggage.
