Yakushima Park Guesthouse

A homely, authentic inn. The owner/ manager is very kind and accommodating. Our room was spacious and we were able to use many of the property's facilities during our stay.

The property, being relatively old, can get quite noisy, especially when people preparing for early morning hikes get up at 2:30am and start slamming doors and cooking breakfast. The property can sometimes smell of cigarette smoke.

Good location quite close to the port and next to the bus stop. Quite a quiet location and the futon were relatively soft too.

The house is bit old, but nothing too much. There was bit of smoke smell coming though the window at times, so couldn't let the air in.

Walking distance from Miyanoura port and just opposite the bus stop to everywhere 😁 Quiet, clean. They would clean my room everyday and even change the bedding. The owner is very nice. He knows the bus timetable by heart and offered hiking poles, gloves, tankan fruit and everything I needed :) Nice and clean shower too, and free access to washing machine, which is a big plus in Yakushima! Did I mention the extra soft duvet and comfy bed?

The owner was very friendly and helpful, he was very kind to let me leave my luggage there early in the morning before the check-in even though I contacted him with very short notice. The bedroom was perfect for one person, as was my case, but maybe a little tight for two. I had the lower bunk bed, and it was the most comfortable bed I've had in Japan. I could do my laundry for free, which was nice for a change. There was free coffee and delicious mikan in the kitchen, and I even got an orange as a goodbye on my way out. I would stay there again without a doubt.

The house was just pretty much outside the bus stop. The owner was polite and friendly. It is a good choice for a short-term stay.

I didn't expect there would be a long steep stairway. We had large suitcases, so it wasn't very convenient, but the owner helped us, though.

We loved staying here. It was a walkable distance from the port and the owner of the Guesthouse ist very kind. He helped us out, when our ferry was canceled and even drove us to the port. Thank you for everything.

The guesthouse was clean with shared kitchen, toilet and bathroom. Coffee and washing machine were available for free. Hide, the owner was very kind and helpful. He even dropped me to Miyanoura port. Great value for money. I’ll stay there again if I come to Yakushima again.
