Fantastic location and kind staff

The bar/bookshop is a feast for the senses. Beautiful vintage furniture mixed with lovely textures and smells.

I didn't like leaving.

Such a beautiful guesthouse, traditional yet quirky at the same time. Great amenities. The owners were very welcoming and made us one of the most incredible meals we had in Japan. The location is great, super close to the beach and very easy yet beautiful drive to the local onsens. We also loved all the owners screenprinted artwork!

Very clean, comfortable accommodation in a historic building with wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts. Laundry facilities are available. Dinner was a large amount- three dinners was more than enough for four people. The breakfast was also large and extravagant.. keep in mind they eat whole fish for breakfast in this country ;). the village is beautiful and the beach is completely empty. The property is literally a quarter of a block from the beachfront.

Walk from the train station was a bit long, but the village is beautiful.

I really enjoyed my visit to Takeno, a quiet, traditional fishing village. The guest house was simple but really lovely, and spotlessly clean, and Keisuke made sure I had everything I needed. The sashimi set for dinner was the best I have had in Japan - fish fresh straight off the dock. It was also really relaxing to hang out downstairs in his bookshop bar. All round a great experience.

Really close to Takenohama beach. Very friendly staff, Keisuke speaks good English. The food was home made and tasty. Very pretty inside.

There are no taxis in Takeno and no reliable bus either so it's a 20 minute walk from the station. Trains to Kinosaki aren't that regular either. That's the only downside.
