Fun Family Guest House n Jungle Tour

Brilliant stay. Views right on the river. Super cheap accommodation. The best part of the stay is the wonderful owners, Putra and Maya and the lovely Fitri. (Such amazing hosts) I highly recommend doing the orang utan trip with Putra he has a tremendous knowledge of the forest and makes the journey fun and memorable. He is very thoughtful and eco aware of the trek. Your money goes to a local family and not to some multinational company. I highly recommend staying here.

We like the river view, it is really nice. The staffs are really friendly and helpfull, they always make me feel like home.

This place is exactly as the name describes. Fun and family oriented. Putri the owner and his wife Maya greet you with smiles and enthusiasm throughout your stay. If either of them are busy you have the lovely Fitri looking after you who is also an absolute pleasure to speak to and spend time with. As I got out of my transport Putri was waiting for me with a big smile. He helped me with my bags and we chatted about my plans for the coming days. What struck me most about the time I spent with Putri was his absolute passion for the rainforest and the wildlife within it. I planned to do the 2 day tour but unfortunately I wasn’t too well to go on that trek but Putri took me on a personal 3-4 hour trek just so I could capture some sightings of Orangutans, monkeys, snakes etc. All the time while I was with him he shared with me his vast knowledge of the rainforest. I would recommend using Putri as your guide over some of these large tourist group guides as they outsource their guides. Putri has lived around the rainforest his whole life as did his father and his father before him. Knowledge that gets handed down like that is hard to beat. While I felt unwell he checked in on me, providing me with anything I needed, offering to take me to the pharmacy He also arranged my travel to and from Bukit Lawang. Thank you Putri Maya and Fitri

The accommodation is amazingly cheap for the price. Personally I think he needs to charge a little more but as with all jungle accommodation it is only basic. Don’t expect running hot showers or soaking in a hot bath.

The place is amazing, near to the river and the staffs treat us like family. The jungle tour was amazing we saw lot a of animals not only orang utan. They are realy eesponsible in their job

The host Putra is incredible! He's so friendly and really happy to help with anything we needed. He sorted out our travel to and from the hostel and his jungle trek was amazing - he's great at spotting animals! The room had what we needed and the view of the river was a lovely touch. There is a restaurant downstairs to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner if you'd like and the food was lovely - we ate there every morning.

There really wasn't much at all! The shower in the room is quite basic so washing was a bit more difficult than a regular shower but we're in the jungle so what do you expect?!

Putra and his family take care about everything you need during your stay! He called me to explain the best way to get to Bukit Lawang ( public bus, fares, etc) He also picked me up from the bus station in Bukit Lawang. You can buy delicious food in their restaurant down stairs. Nice view of the river from the room. The nature is all around there!

The guesthouse is perfectly located on the riverfront, a short walk away from the bus station. Putra and his family are very kind and thoughtful hosts, and I felt thoroughly looked after during my stay - they really went above and beyond. The room was comfortable and excellent value for money. The real highlight though was the superb jungle trekking. Putra and Darwan were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the plants and animals we saw and the trip was a lot of fun. Food was great too.
