Villa Pandolfi Elmi

This villa is beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable. The host, Fabrizio is extremely accommodating and helpful- a gracious and charming host beyond expectations. He recommended excellent restaurants, helped us plan our days, and went well above and beyond. We were here late July during a heat wave, and it got quite warm on the second floor. However, Fabrizio provided fans and instructed us when to open up the windows for cooling air in the evenings. Easy walk to Spello on rural roads in the countryside outskirts of town. We’re definitely under Spello’s spell!

Beautiful property in a lovely village

We liked the location (on site parking) close to the city, the warm welcome by the host ( who lives on the place) and his willingness to help as necessary including helping with the suitcase. Thank him for that.

The stairs to the upper floor. The house is 380 years old and so is (though very well maintained) different. The stairs are higher than usual and require additional attention when you go up and down. Another point is daily cleaning which we missed.

The owner, Fabrizio, made our stay so special. He is so kind, helpful, communicative- he became a friend. He saw I used soy milk and went and bought me some. We asked for a barber referral and he drove us there and came in to translate for us. The location is terrific- short walk into Spello but out in the country so we walked there too.

Villa Pandolfi Elmi is a fairytale place. Staying here was like being transported back in time to the 18th century---that's when the villa was built---but with the advantages of the modern age. Fabrizio, the owner of the villa, is hands down the best host we've ever had in all our 25 years of traveling. He was more like a great friend than a host, being so accommodating and helpful. Fabrizio gave us great suggestions on where to eat in Spello and what to see in Umbria, and his suggestions were always spot on. The villa is a fascinating place to stay, being furnished with many pieces of original furniture, photographs of different generations of family, and art . History is everywhere. The suite itself is on the 3rd floor, and there is an adjacent living room and dining room, where you can have breakfast anytime because the fridge and pantry are well stocked up. There is a nice yard with a beautiful view of Spello. The walk to Spello is less than 10 min on the quiet road along the property line. Spello is perfectly located in Umbria, and the city itself is gorgeous and full of beautiful flowers. We highly recommend this place!

The location is perfect—a very short and agreeable walk to beautiful Spello and in the heart of Umbria, so well-located for visiting all of its many small and picturesque towns. Fabrizio is a wonderful, gracious, and very kind host, and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

This beautiful villa is older than America, but is lovingly cared for. It has a countryside feeling, but it’s only a 15 minute walk from old town. Fabrisio took the time to orient us and recommend excellent restaurants and sight to see. He reserved a wine tasting at Montefalco where we had tour with 7 wines.

The shower in our bath could have been a little larger.
