Drangar Country Guesthouse

A warm welcome on arrival from Knútur who proved to be a dedicated and knowledgeable host. Drangar itself is a kind of hybrid destination, part guest house and part hotel. Either way it’s sumptuously finished and very agreeable. It’s clearly an architectural masterworks where everything works very harmoniously. There are two shared spaces where you can cook/drink/relax should the accoutrements in the room not do the job.

The location is a little off the beaten track but that only adds to the pleasure afforded by the splendid isolation. The views from the Annexe aren't as good as the main building, but you get more in room facilities.

Absolute amazing hosts. Felt like we were visiting family. Very comfortable and immaculate rooms. Peaceful. Was also advised on a good route to take through the western peninsula.

Amazing location, nice stroll on the beach nearby. A unique place well worth visiting. Nice to have cooking facilities!

Well appointed and spacious. Had a kitchenette in the room. Self-contained. Architectural. Location is remote with great views from the breakfast room. Excellent assistance in planning your day sightseeing. Great communication ensuring awareness of location and facilities.

After driving through the phenomenal Snaefellsnes countryside, Dragar's location and its views to the sea and the skerries are peaceful and inspiring (there was next to no wind on the days we were there). The modern, architect designed structures of the guesthouse constructed on the footprint of old farm buildings are creative in the landscape. The interiors did not disappoint. The materials - oak, concrete, local stone terrazzo, tiles - and colour schemes are considered and gorgeous. Everything was spotless. The hosts are lovely - kind, discrete but helpful.

Extraordinary place - beautiful location, impeccable architecture and design, terrific breakfast as well as prepare-your-own-food facilities, and extremely friendly and helpful hosts. We could not have been more pleased.
