Belmont House Boutique - the Kingsley collection

Everything. Felt like a VIP from the moment the booking was confirmed. My wife and I were on a decent bike ride from Alnwick and got caught in some bad weather. We arrived soaked to the skin. Sarah, our host, had hot showers running in no time. As for the property, very different in a lovely way. Full of memorabilia from far flung places. You’ll never find another place like it, this place in unique. The rooms was equipped with a well stocked mini bar,

The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of fresh fruit was included as well as freshly cooked egg dishes including a lovely cheese free dish for me. A wonderful start to the day. We liked everything! We felt very welcome whilst being given privacy to come and go as we pleased.

It was eclectically fabulous! There are lots of interesting things to look at around the house and you could spend ages looking at all the decor before even getting to the room! The bathroom was huge and the deep bath was exquisite. The host - Sarah - was amazing and so welcoming. There was a sign on the landing that said, “enter as strangers, leave as friends” and that was really the case. We had a great chat and learnt a lot about her background, way of thinking and was genuinely interested not only in what we were saying but also wanted to make sure we had the best time, which we did. So much positive energy in that house and you felt like you’d just visited your long lost friend. PS, Sarah makes the best breakfast direct to your room, and oh, the compote was soooo delicious!

Nothing at all, and although we stayed in a castle the following night, Belmont House trumped it by some distance!

The decor of Belmont House Boutique is vivid, warm, colourful, inviting, relaxed and bohemian, much like the lovely hostess Sarah herself. She is genuinely warm and friendly, getting the balance spot on without being ott. She has a superb knack of seeming to know what her guests individually need. The bed in my room was extremely comfortable, my room was clean and cosy, everything had been given such attention to detail… plenty of different tea on offer, various coffees, cereal for breakfast, a cafetière, a mini fridge perfectly stocked with oat milk and cows milk, alcohol and non alcoholic beers, chocolate and complimentary toiletries to use… sky tv, towels and lovely comfy pillows. My private bathroom (only a few steps away on the landing) was so beautiful with a slipper bath and waterfall shower, magazines and bath salts to use. I felt relaxed and pampered the whole of my 3 night stay, nothing was too much trouble for Sarah and she made me feel so welcome and cared for, like a family friend. Breakfast was amazing, luxurious and tasty (croissants, toast, butter, marmalade, fresh fruit, yogurt, compote, scrambled eggs/souffle/pork pie/scotch egg) and to have it brought to your room was a perfect treat. I would highly recommend staying here for solo travellers like myself and also for couple’s. Sarah met me with my heavy bag at the train station when I left, which she brought to me personally, and I feel I have met the most wonderful human being in a long, long time! I met her husband briefly too, who was as equally charming, friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is around a 20 minute walk into Berwick over the old bridge. It has easily accessible bus routes nearby into Berwick and onto Bamburgh/Seahouses and Alnwick (X18). This was my first visit to the area and I will definitely return, it didn’t disappoint and Belmont House exceeded my expectations.

Sarah is quite possibly the best hostess I have ever met, she was absolutely lovely, and couldn't do enough to help us out in anyway, room was lovely, bed really comfortable, and breakfast brought to your room on a trolley, was just stunning, I can't recommend this place high enough.

The welcome we received was exceptional. Sarah has a rare gift of making people feel at home instantly. Superb customer service, beautiful room, and a varied, high quality, delicious breakfast.

Our host was so friendly and welcoming after a long journey travelling from the West of Scotland. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt like we were really taken care of.

It was a 20 minute walk into the centre of Berwick which for some might be an issue, but for us it was fine and we got to walk over the "old bridge".
