Lovely peaceful spot right on the water. We took the kayak out for a cruise in the morning and it was perfect. Great breakfast, friendly staff and a pretty comfy bed.

Stop searching and book this accommodation immediately!!!!!!!!!! Booking doesn't offer such a high rating as I would like to give for this accommodation. The owner gave us a presentation of everything he cultivates, and we had the opportunity to taste it. He allowed us to use the kayak, bicycles, and helped with renting scooter. Also he arranged safari tour for a good price. We stayed one night longer than planned because we didn't want to leave this magical place. Location, host, dinner, breakfast, everything was PERFECT.

Photos don’t lie! The best value ever. The place is just so beautiful, calm and relaxing. Lush green garden and private access to the lake. I would advise eating all your meals at this place, the food is different every time, you get sooo much food served and it tastes amazing! The host arranged a safari for us, he even gave us water, biscuits and bananas for the way. He is very kind and his sister is the best cook!

Dinner and breakfast were the best we had in Sri Lanka, the place is beautiful and peaceful, the owner was nice to us in every moment and the safari they organized was a great experience.

Lovely quiet location (apart form screaming peacocks but that’s magic! ) recently refurbished, with a great, helpful manager Rajeev. You can use the bikes and kayaks, so you have some options after the safari or if you arrive earlier in the day.

All was great really.

We were the first to stay after 4 months of maintenance, upkeep etc. which meant the site was in fantastic condition. Yonan exceeded every expectation of ours. Our chalet was large and well-maintained with a lovely little terrace overlooking the most spectacular setting. The river is lovely to paddle on using the free kayak, there are free bicycles to cycle into the local village and the breakfast is incredible. The host is one of the most generous and kind-hearted people we’ve met in Sri Lanka and could tell that he pours his heart and soul into his business. With only 3 chalets, there is a tranquil and intimate vibe - photos don’t do it justice! Such fantastic value for money

We had such a lovely stay at Yonan River Resort. Rajiva was so kind and helpful and the dinner and breakfast were both delicious. He also helped to organise a safari trip for us. Our room was comfortable with A/C, nice beds and hot showers and the location by the river was really beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
