Plantation Inn

The room was clean and AC the fan there did its work. Comfy temperature. I think the bathroom is quite newly renovated which made it feel clean and nice to use. The staff were so nice and sweet, they live there too. I would absolutely say this was good value for money, because of the comfortable room, bathroom and temperature in there. We spent one night here. The property is kind of “up there”, between other houses.

There wasn’t anything I disliked, but the location was a little off. I’m pretty sure it said beachfront, which it was not. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the beach - and the one down there was not really the best.

The place was in a quiet location away from touristy spots, yet not a long walk to the village or the seafront

The Wifi was good, I could work remotely without issues. It was also easy to wash my clothes and hang them outside. Also, they have a kitchen although it's not super equipped.

Every night a dog was barking for a long time around 12/1 am, waking me up every time..

We stayed at Plantation Inn for a full month and we really felt at home. The family (who lives next door) has been amazing - very kind&happy, helpfull, responsive, (and quick!) with everything, from offering support to receive our extended visa’s (including accompanying us all the way to the immigration office in Colombo), fixing the flat tire of the scooter and cleaning our room. The terrace of the second floor offers a sea view, which is amazing during your morning coffee or afternoon drink. The rooms are clean, and the kitchen provides basic, but enough equipment for (simple) meals. The location was perfect for us, not in the busy streets close to the Weli beach, but just a couple of minutes scooter ride from both Weligama and Midigama (good surfing spots). It’s also very close to a very nice co-working space. Thanks a lot to the whole family for our stay, we had a great time and felt very welcome!

Good location within walking distance to the main beach - 450 meters. Very clean and onsite owners were always available and willing to assist. Property is high on the hill so good views and a breeze. Plenty of tuk tuks only 300 meters away. Easy walk into Weligama Beach Village or 2 mins by tuk tuk. Highly recommended

It didn't feel like a good value for money. On the second day there's was a national power cut (not blaming the hotel) but that meant it was too hot to stay in, and there was no WiFi. On the third day there there was construction happening next door with noise till late night. No privacy on the top floor. Other guests and owners passing by (every now and then) which meant we couldn't stay with curtains wide open to enjoy the view. Even though it was the most expensive property we stayed in so far, there was no drinking water available (comparing with other places, including very cheap hostels)

This is a wonderful guest house with just eight rooms, run by the sweetest and most welcoming family! It’s located on top of a hill, offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere away from the noise and chaos of Weligama. The upper floors even have a beautiful sea view. Despite the tranquil setting, it’s only a quick 2-minute scooter ride to the city center. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-kept, making for a very relaxing stay. There’s also a shared kitchen and refrigerator available if you want to prepare your own meals. We stayed for 5 days and absolutely loved it 😊

The host asked if we could check out 2 hours earlier then the check out time, we ignored that and took our time. The shower drain needs to be cleaned.
