Plantation Inn

Amazing property an easy bike ride from the beach in a chill location. We were very happy staying here as a lot of places we had tried in the area were rife with mold.

They didn’t have soap or shower gel in the bathroom, neither toilet paper

The location is 5-10 minutes away from everywhere and you can reach on foot or by scooter. My room was clean and has a very nice garden view, if you don't take into account the mosquitoes, especially in the evenings, there is a very quiet and peaceful patio to sit on. The hosts are very sweet people who do their best to help if you need anything. Definitely a place to stay.

The location is great and the room felt really nice and private with decor that made me feel a little classy which was nice. The main thing to mention is the water pressure! The overhead and regular showerhead were fantastic. The owner is very sweet.

My room wasn't ready on arrival so I had to wait an hour but I found my way down to the green lobster and had the most incredible dinner made by Lucky on the beach! Just a tip: they don't provide soap or toiletries so make sure you bring your own as the villa is secluded. There was a dog barking loudly outside my room so I called to ask if they could move the dog and it was done in 5 minutes!

Family/staff were amazing, super friendly and communicated a lot aswell as being easy to get hold of. The room was so great, had we known sooner then we would have stayed another week! We were able to borrow a moped to drive which made our stay even better.

Unfortunately the wifi wasn't great. It just makes it a little harder when travelling to contact people, plan and book for the rest of the trip. Esims/4G don't always work. I think it was a new wifi though so hopefully this won't be a problem long term and don't let this stop you from booking your stay.

The room was fairly new, with a large veranda overlooking the ocean. It was really about the highest building in Weligama outside of the Marriot, and we could watch the sunrise over the ocean from bed. No breakfast or frills with this place, but Weligama had many excellent bakeries and cafes, and the beach was only a short walk away. Welle Gedara is also around the corner, one of the beset vegan places you can ever find.

The room was so new a few things were missing, and be careful not to leave food out for the ants.

Staff was very friendly and nice. Even without ac it was good to sleep with the fan 😊 good location and quiet. Clean nice rooms, bathroom was big and there was hot water 👍🏻 Patio and big living room was a plus!
