Loved everything about Casa Umay . Clean, friendly , chilled .

This place is great. Santiago was very friendly and helpful at checkin. The vibe is really chill and I found it to be very cozy. It had everything I needed for my stay in Bacalar

No fault of theirs but it can be a bit tricky to find. They provide great instructions on how to find the place but you need to read them. Someone saw me walking on the street confused and pointed me in the right direction.

Santiago was extremely helpful, warm, and accommodating - we felt very at home. The room had a big comfortable bed and was decorated very nicely, plus there is use of a communal kitchen with free water. The location is amazing and in a beautiful setting.

No negatives!

You enter through this cool restaurant and it’s like the inner courtyard of it. Great value for money!

Only drawback was the pool that was a bit more like a tub

We loved staying here! Property is well kept and cared for. Large shared kitchen with everything you need and plenty of hammock and seating area around it. Santiago made us feel so welcome and was very attentive and kind (and had the best laugh ever!) Would recommend and definitely excited to come back :) Also a new restaurant just opened attached to it, and it’s a must try. It’s called Cheunic, gotta eat here for sure!

The camaderie with other guests in the outdoor kitchen area, the two hamacs hung near our room, the comfy king bed, the location two block from the zócalo.

The next-door restaurant's rather loud music, and *occasionally* even from the restaurant operating at the front of the hotel (because their speakers were on the hotel side, but the music was international and eclectic) ... however, not *in* the restaurant and the food is*sumptuous* and is must-partake in Bacalar!
