River Retreat Sigiriya

1人で2泊しました。自然を求めつつ中心地への立地の良さでここを選びました。正直、街中のホテルと比べてしまった場合は驚くことが多いと思います。そのため絶対に比べないでください。あくまでジャングルの中にある宿ということです！部屋の中にはカエルやヤモリ、外に猿や像、虫がいます。しかし、それらは事前に承諾の上宿泊しました。それにホストがあらゆることを事前に説明してくれたのでその通りでした。中心地までは徒歩1分。ダンブッラやキャンディ以下のバスも、ステーションまで行かなくても宿から徒歩1分のところで乗ることができるのでとても便利でした。私は何もプランを考えずに行きましたが、ホストがおすすめプランを教えてくれてその通りにして間違いありませんでした。良い滞在になりました。ありがとう！

老板娘英语非常好，很健谈，也很有爱心，尽可能地为我们提供帮助，离主街道很近

老板娘只有一个人忙不过来，也不忍心伤害花草，导致院子杂草丛生，跟照片上的相去甚远。因为贴近自然，房间里会看到蚂蚁，壁虎等小昆虫…谷歌地图上的定位不准，大晚上的跟着导航走到了其他地方…

As described in other reviews, the host is very friendly and made an effort to help us have a decent time. Additionally, the room is very good value for the cost. The overall rating is pretty fair.

A lot of the amenities are a bit misleading - there was no hot tub (which I wouldn’t have expected for the price anyway). The AC was notional - it was more of a fan stuck on 24 degrees that didn’t do much to cool the room down. The room was pretty dirty - a train of ants running across the wall on arrival didn’t leave the best impression, but again for the price it’s fine for a short trip. Lastly, the wifi was unworkable; not a good option if you need to work whilst there.

The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. For the price, is the best you can get. On top of it, the owner is really nice person. Animal lover. She showed us the way Safari should be done in polite way to the animal. Gave us really good recommendations for our next trips. If I ever come back to Sri Lanka, the first place I visit is here. Thank you for everything.🩷

Madu is a great host and an even better person. She told us a lot about the area, the animals and where to go and eat. She also offers safaris where she guides us herself. The room was spaceous and the garden was home to many different animals. Lions Rock is also im walking distance.

It was a little hard to find in the dark, because it is a little hidden behind another house.

If you are a nature and animal lover this is the place for you. One of the best homestays we stay in the 10 months travel trip. Madu helps you a lot with everything when you do the check in explaining everything about her city and the surroundings. The rooms are super clean, you have option with and without a/c, and the breakfast is soo good. She also organizes some safaris, we joined her and have a magic experience. Totally reccomend this place, also she has a nice garden where you can spot some of the most famous animals in sri lanka like peacocks, giant squirrels or some beautiful birds. The entrance is a bit tricky but just keep going from the main street to the back of the houses. Also, let her know what time you are arriving in advance so she can prepare your room. Bare in mind this is a place in the midle of the forest, if you dont like nature and you prefer a 5 star hotel book acordingly to your preferences.

Made us wait for 3 hours for cleaning the room before check in, ac,wifi, hot water not working.

The place is so beautiful, full of trees and you can hear the river flow. Madhu ( the host) was a lot more cooperative. She actually guided us through the area, got us Tuktuk for our visits to places, made us breakfast, chatted with us about her passion and all. Really enjoyed the stay.
