Emerald Mirror Guest Ella

Lovely guest house high in the hills of Ella great views. We booked here before taking the train from Ella to Kandy. The couple who run the guest are lovely , helpful and even gave us a lift to the station the next. Both spoke English and were able to give us ideas of where to go next as we were doing our own travelling - if I EPA’s ever back in Ella I would stay here , great value for money and a lovely breakfast.

The host family is so friendly and lovely. The breakfast was amazing. The view is so beautiful.

Up the top of a big hill- but the owner is very kind and will pick you up from the bottom of you give him a call

Location was great. Very close to Ella centre with plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. Also railway station is very close by. Owner picked us from the railway station which was a huge help. Very friendly couple who fed us well for breakfast and looked after us. Bed was very comfy.

Wi-Fi was poor. The shower flow was non-existent first night which was improved after the owner adjusted something. The road to the property is very steep which is walkable but I definitely could not have managed this with my luggage. No storage in room other than a desk area and one shelf.

It was so close to the Main Street with a steep but easy walk when exploring to village and shopping.

This is a wonderful little place, close to the restaurants, bars and shops of Ella's main street. The hosts are a lovely couple who are so friendly and helpful. They make a delicious breakfast every morning. I was leaving early on my checkout day to catch the train, but they provided me with a parcel of food so I could have something to eat on the train. So thoughtful! The husband even drove me to the train station, although it's not very far to walk there. The room was comfortable...I slept very well! Nice view from the balcony. And the price was very reasonable. Definitely would stay here again if I return to Ella, which I would love to do some day!

It wasn't a problem for me, but just to let you know that you will need to walk up a steep hill to get to the guesthouse. Personally, I enjoyed the exercise!

We stayed here for three nights whilst exploring the area. Yapa provided great communication leading up to our stay, and even picked us up from the train station on arrival, he also made sure we got on the correct bus for our onward journey. He was always available by WhatsApp . He arranged a tuk tuk driver to take us around to several sites, to make sure we got the most out of our time in Ella. The breakfasts were lovely and tasty and plentiful each morning. We would recommend. Thank you and best wishes to your family Yapa.
