Villa Aroshina with cooking class

Aroshina is a super business woman. She had created a wonderful homestay taking care of every detail of the decor of this ancient house, making her guests feel in good. She is a fantastic cook and she organizes amazing cooking classes.

We stayed two nights in Galle with Aroshina. We felt felt immediately welcome with the pot of tea upon arrival. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The highlight was the food cooked by Aroshina, who went out of her way to cook us a fabulous Christmas dinner. It was the best meal we had during our 21 day Sri Lankan holiday - which is saying something special.

Hostess Aroshina and her family are very friendly and warm. Her husband would take you from the home to the fort. Really feel like home here.

This was a last minute booking but one of the loveliest places we stayed. Our stay was only for one evening but that was enough to feel like part of the family. Aroshina is always smiling. Such a lovely person. We mainly went there for the cooking class which was great. We cooked, chatted and laughed for hours. Definately hope to return one day soon! The beds and pillows were really comfy and quiet A/C.

Aroshina and her family were excellent hosts and made us feel like we visiting family. Our little son had a good time and instantly bonded with them. The breakfast was tasty and filling. Aroshina also helped us retrieve a lost shoe we had left in a TukTuk!

It is slightly away from the fort area but a short auto ride

We loved everything about the property! Aroshina is such a wonderful host and an incredible person. Her family welcomed us in like their own - took us to the markets and even helped me buy a sari for a wedding next week! Would’ve been lost without her. She even noticed I had a cough and sore throat in the evenings so she bought me some wonderful medicinal tea! It saved me! Manju, her husband, took us on lots of tuk tuk trips and showed us around the area. We were so grateful. Breakfasts were lovely and the cooking class with Aroshina was excellent! We were lucky enough to spend New Year’s Eve with them and joined in their traditions.

We loved everything!

We immediately felt at home at Villa Aroshina as the owner family is very warm and helpful. The breakfast was a typical one from Sri Lanka and it was excellent. Unfortunately we stayed there just one night. The location is not too far from the fort, but the Tuk Tuk is needed to go there.

Aroshina and her family were incredibly friendly and took us in like their own. We were offered tea or coffee at multiple occasions during the day. We cooked with Aroshina and learned all about the Sri Lankan cuisine which was very helpful for the rest of our travels and it was the best curry I‘ve had since. Aroshina is a super hard-working mom and host, she does everything to make you feel at home. 10/10 recommend!!

Aroshina and her family are very warm and welcoming. The room was clean and cosy. They also dropped me to the Galle Fort, or railway station or the local market, whenever needed. The food cooked by Aroshina was exquisite and gave insight into Sri Lankan cuisine. It is a great place for solo travelers.
