"Lovely for a night in York!"

We loved the decor and the location. The snacks and refreshments were a nice extra touch.

There is nowhere nearby to park when dropping off luggage, the staff at check in were not friendly or very helpful. I felt that for the price, we should have had two ply toilet paper.

Beautiful location! Stunning exterior and great colour schemes. Love the secret bathroom

Looks like it’s due a freshen up, yellowing shower tray, shower head was sub average, naturally with an old building some damp build up and crumbling plaster. No light shades on lamps in the bathroom, coffee machine lid broken. Different colour bulbs in lamps, one being an awful white light.

The bed was comfortable, which was a positive aspect of my stay. Location was central and easy to get around.

The hotel didn't offer a proper breakfast; they provided a brown bag with an apple and a pastry. For a 4-star hotel, this was disappointing. It would be helpful if they clearly stated there's no real breakfast to manage expectations.The lack of communal areas and dining facilities made it feel more like a hostel. Additionally, they ask for a card on file for orders, yet there's no menu for food or drinks. This lack of service doesn't meet 4-star standards.

Room was nice - no view but no problem. Central location was excellent - 15 mins slow walk from the Train Station and in the old town so central for everything

The 'good breakfast' turned out to be a packed breakfast. You'd be better off going just up the road to the cafe.

Brilliant location

Room was a little small for my husband and I who are both over 6ft, basement room also whereby bins were being emptied at head height with windows open in the early morning
