"Unremarkable"

6.0

Bed was comfortable and location.

No lift! Lots of stairs not good for people with bad knees and luggage! No assistance offered, no air conditioning, fan only. Room in basement level. Carpets are tattered and not clean. Too expensive For a bed type place! No breakfast either, again Too Expensive for what it was!

"Relaxing overnight stay, wish we could have stayed longer."

10.0

Our visit was supposed to be a break in driving from London to Edinburgh - an overnight stop. We didn't really think much about the hotel before hand other than that it was central. We were pleasantly surprised. Yes, central - but a building with charm, character and history. For a night we felt connected to York. Friendly staff. Well appointed rooms, hot chocolate sachets!

Caroline and I are not as spry as we once were so the stairs were challenging. Next time we might choose a lower floor. Not much else to complain about!
