Nice old building. Short walk from the railway station Centrally located. Comfy bed and pillows

Always filter for breakfast included on Booking.com. However, realised too late that breakfast was grab and go bag. Horrible

The location was brilliant. The room was clean, and very quiet considering it was central to a busy area. I also really appreciated how friendly 1 particular member of reception was, a lady called Rachel.

There is no bar or anything outside your room within the hotel. Also the breakfast, I didnt realise until reading reviews that it is simply a few items in a paper bag. However, it wasnt even mentioned upon check in or through out my stay. I passed through reception a few times on the evening / morning of departure, and wasnt sure where to go to collect, so ended up going to a cafe round the corner.

Great location in the centre of York, comfortable bed. Large bedroom and bathroom.

No on site restaurant. Poor quality breakfast bag provided. Very noisy in the morning with beer barrels being stacked in next door pub. Dirty yard in front of hotel. More rooms in city centre than hotel.

Location was amazing, so close to everything. Room with roll top bathroom was wonderful. Staff were really friendly.

Breakfast was poor. If offering continental breakfast bag feel this should include several good quality items from local bakers.

It is a characterful hotel in a great location, in the city centre but hidden away. The room was cosy and well equipped. Spotlessly clean.

It was a bit of a climb up narrow stairs to get to the room. Didn’t bother me but something to consider if you have mobility issues or take lots of luggage.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location and size for f bathroom. Very central and walking distance close to everything. Bathroom nice and big.

The room we were given was at the top of the building. Nothing like any of the photos on the website. The lady in reception told us that it was in the website as a classic double. We have looked since leaving and there is definitely no picture of the room we stayed in. Our room was a mismatch of what must have been left over from the other rooms. The bed…. My goodness. I can hand in heart state was the worst nights sleep. The carpets were that old my feet’s were sticking to it. The small was covered up by shake and vac. However this wore off pretty quickly. The breakfast … please stop it. It really doesn’t bring anything to the table. Use the money to change the carpets. At over £150 was felt that we was robbed. It’s not worth anywhere near that. Book into a travel lodge at less than that price you will have a better experience. We actually left the hotel early in the morning as it was that bad I just couldn’t bring my self to stay any longer. We came for a relaxing anniversary break planning on having relaxing lie ins😂😂 Did tell the nice lady on the reception of my disappointment which is by no means her doing. She just works there. Its head offices who are looking to spend the minimum on the place and looking to take out the maximum in cash. What a real shame. Units day must have been a nice hotel. We will never come back and will certainly never recommend.
