The rooms were spacious and the location was pretty good. Bus stop close by.

Absolutely no sound proofing, we were woken up every night, and hardly got any sleep. Red mould growing in the shower room. The bed had broken springs and wasn't at all comfortable, we had to try and sleep around the broken parts. The rooms smelt musty which was attempted to be covered up with an overpowering air freshener in the hallway. It was obviously a care home before being used at a hotel. Definitely not a 4* hotel. More like a budget stay, unfortunately not worth the money.

Even though it was self checking there was quick contact with the owner when required. Flight of stairs. Bus stop to the city very close. Ample parking on-site.

Easy parking. An easy 30-minute walk into the heart of York. Spacious with lots of storage facilities. Quiet location but close to main road and there was an Aldi nearby There was a fridge in the lounge, which was good to put milk and things in.

The carpet in the room was old..

The bed was really comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding and pillows if needed. The room was tidy and clean and had everything needed in the way of tea, coffee, etc, with extra supplies in the lobby. The leaflets with information about York attractions etc were a nice touch. Although we didn't need it, we liked the fact that there was the option to leave our bags in the building after check-out if we weren't travelling until later in the day. The self-service check-in/check-out was simple and well explained.

While the room seemed to have been cleaned well and there were no serious issues, we did find some rubbish down the back of one of the bedside tables that had been missed. The only reason we found it was because we had to move the tables/bed to plug the lamps in, as they weren't plugged in when we arrived. It might not be something that can be rectified, but the water pressure in the shower was extremely low.

Very clean and comfortable and tea and coffee was well stocked everything was there.
