Central, great location -‘and radiator in bathroom was nice and warm for towels.

Had to call number on booking and walk over to a crowded pub across the road (not mentioned on booking) to pick up keys. Staff there were very friendly and booked us inn/gave us our keys. The guest house had the potential to be amazing but the rate was cheap but I would still expect certain things included. Blind was broken on window, only 1 strip so had to hang up a dress for a bit of privacy and to block out light in morning. The complimentary milk sachets were out of date. The sink/drain in bathroom was a bit smelly. The inner bin missing in the bathroom/toilet. The shared fridge on landing was dirty. However, the bed was comfortable and decor was pleasant and it was okay for 1 night stay but just felt that they were letting themselves down as this place could be really really nice .

Only decent thing was the location.

All rooms on top floor plenty of stairs, no means of escape if there was a fire. Building also contains tenanted flats, and smells of smoke. Room didn't look like it had been cleaned, no toilet rolls or coat hangers. Empty tablet packet on side and empty loo rolls on bathroom side! Mis match bedding and cups, feels like a hostel, certainly not a hotel

It was in a building with flats that had permanent tenants. All rooms are on very top floor, no lift and plenty of stairs so not very accessible as I am disabled. No milk in the room. Mis match bedding and towels. Overall felt more like a hostel

Upon arrival you need to go to the 3 Swans Pub to register - and you get a free pint of beer too. The receptionist was very nice and she walks you to the close-by rooms. The location is very central with a 5 min. walk to the Abbey and 10 min. to the train station. Lots of pubs, restaurants and cafes near-by The room and bathroom were basic but clean with a super view of the little square and Abbey. Now I know what I'm getting I might book again.

1) There were discarded bags of rubbish and junk in the entrance hall which remained for the whole duration of our stay - not nice. 2) Although the room was clean the windows and window frames were filthy dirty. I had to wash my hands each time after opening and closing the window. 3) The mattresses were poor & cheap and not too comfortable. 4) There is free tea and coffee. The tea was the worst tea I have ever tasted in 67 years, the cheapest low quality tea available - bring your own if you want to drink some tea.
