Very nice and sweet owners, amazing food at the restaurant and great choice of breakfast

The hotel owners are present on site every day and take care of their guests in a warm and professional manner, significantly exceeding the standards on Zanzibar. The hotel is characterized by attention to detail, a very nice atmosphere, many amenities for guests. In relation to other hotels in the region, here you can feel the European hand of Mrs. Ursula and give a sense of care. Additionally, a huge advantage of the place is the high quality cuisine both at breakfast and dinner. It is worth coming here and coming back.

The owners are extremely kind and friendly. Gave us a lot of recommendations and were super attentive. Made us feel part of the family. Food is great here too. The beach view rooms are modern and clean and beautiful. The access to the beach is unmatchable

Location is nice cause it’s quiet but a bit annoying to have to take a taxi every time you wanna go to town. You could walk but it’s a bit far.

Nothing really, but it i would note that it is in a quiet area and would require a 20-30 minute walk to the closest village.

Location was great. Serenity on a different level. You are literally on the beach! Such a beautifully manicured garden and property layout. The owner really thought of everything when this place was designed. Also great aesthetic in terms of the design, minimalistic but so functional. They pay attention to detail Breakfast was good.. Ursula went out of her way to accommodate us and our baby, The WiFi is only at the common area. This is good because you actually get a chance to rest and enjoy the place.

Only didn't like the fact that we couldn't stay longer.

The breakfast was delicious with a local twist. It was served in the open dining area with beautiful decor and views of the sea. The staff were absolutely delightful. The location of the hotel is exceptional - right on Bwejuu beach which is quieter than neighbouring Paje. Paje is within easy reach along the beach or by taxi or tuktuk if you need to shop or us and ATM.

The Wi-Fi requires logging in with a visitor code every 6 hours but this may be a constraint of the local services. Not a great hardship but does require a small amount of admin!!

The hosts, the food and the service were exceptional. Helwas is a small family hotel with a great, friendly atmosphere and top accommodation. We were group of 5 and we had amazing time at Helwas! Big thanks to Jeffrey and Ursula (our host) for the good vibes and the hospitality!

What a place. Very nice so clean you would feel you are in your own place only 9 rooms which makes is it stand out and special top service. House keeping your room will be cleaned every day like you have just checked in. The couples who run the place working very hard around the clock making sure every gust feels special. So nice so quiet yet thy have some activity on Saturday. Breakfast is thought about very well, you will definitely look forward to it. Very long sandy beach 🏖️ waiting for you. I have come to Zanzibar for three time so far this is my perfect place i stayed for one week.
