Happy Home Kohjum

It is a nice small resort with a beautiful garden, only five minutes from one of the most beautiful beaches. With some improvements, this could be a really nice resort. The bed is big and comfortable. The host picked us up from the port and provided transportation to the resort.

We booked two bungalows - one standard and one de lux. On booking it said that both had air conditioning, however, the standard had only a fan. This is the main reason for low rating as I find it unacceptable to say one thing on booking and have a different in reality. Both bungalows seemed as a work in progress - walls were plastered but not painted. The second reason for low rating is cleanliness. The fridge was dirty when we came in with fingerprints and food residues all over. During our five-day stay there was no cleaning provided, change of towels or anything. So, my overall impression is that this resort has a lot of potential but bungalows need to be finished and more attention needs to be paid to hygiene.

Beautiful bungalows, very spacious and clean! Good facilities and a peaceful area. Lovely staff who will help with transfers, bike hire, etc. would recommend if staying on Koh Jum!

Beautiful garden with a few bungalows set around in it. They're modern with a good bathroom, mosquito nets, and excellent A/C. A full size fridge and some plates and cutlery is a nice touch. Location is good, on the main Rd, though about 20 mins walk to a beach, so better if you plan to get a bike. Most conversation was done with staff through whatsapp, but they were responsive in booking onward travel for us, etc.

Very dark at night, a few lights by the path to the bungalows would help. Remember a torch and your phone and you'll be fine, though!

Stayed 4 days. No cleaning or empty trash even once. Only water for one day. No change of towels or other. When you are not allowed to flush paper down the toilet, at least they could this cleaning during you stay. Bathroomfloor gets really wet and slippery after shower, very easy to fall. Staff that work there don't speak English.

The bungalow was quite dirty, the bathroom and bedroom. The door knob to the bathroom was missing and so we couldn't close the bathroom. There was a hole at the bathroom rooftop and mouse poo in the bathroom.

-It’s close to some really nice restaurants -It’s a good size room. -the bed was comfy - not too hard and not too soft. -we had quick responses from the owner, and he was helpful-organising us a taxi to the pier.

-We were never advised the island doesn’t have any ATMs - bring cash!! -30 minutes after we arrived, we were told we were in the wrong room, which was completely fine, however, the bed in our new room was covered in tiny bugs, they looked like really small worms/ants and there must have been about 50+ of them right next to the pillow (maybe bed bugs?). Once we told the owner via phone, he tried to say we had to pay 300 baht extra to change rooms. This was because we had booked only fan, and asked to go in the room we were put in previous which was air con. I understand the difference in price, however, when we were put in a room covered in bugs, surely we shouldn’t even be asked to pay extra to change rooms-as guests shouldn’t be made to sleep in a dirty room. -the room we stayed in wasn’t at a good standard of cleanliness either. There were also LOTS of bugs. I understand it’s a small island and we were in nature, however, there was clearly a nest or something on our balcony, as we would wake up to dozens of dead flies on the floor every morning, meaning we were constantly stepping in them and bringing them into the room. -The woman who showed us into our room, wasn’t very friendly. I think since we asked to change rooms, she didn’t like us very much. -The bike we borrowed wasn’t in a very good condition.

Such a beautiful place to stay on a beautiful island! I stayed for a week & loved every minute of it. The staff are incredible too! I can’t wait until I come back again!

Everything! The location, the host, the beautiful bungalow that has everything you need including a fridge-freezer, kitchen area and even a washing line. The host was very friendly and helpful. Location is close to the beach and some delicious restaurants. We loved it here and even extended our stay.
