Minara Guest House

We really enjoyed our stay in this guesthouse. great location, proximity to the ocean and the beach, very spacious and comfortable room, everything was very clean, there was everything for a comfortable life. In the morning there was a wonderful variety of breakfasts. Sometimes monkeys came, but they were harmless and very friendly, chipmunks ran along the branches nearby. This added to the atmosphere of the accommodation. There is a kitchen downstairs with a kettle, a fridge and a stove. We lived on the third floor with a beautiful balcony and air conditioning. There is a playground on the roof with a wonderful view of sunsets and sunrises, even the ocean is visible. The guesthouse is located near the main road, but the territory is very quiet and it feels like you are in the jungle. But the most important plus is the friendly owners of this guesthouse. We felt like we were in a family. Everyone is very kind, friendly, caring. We will miss you very much.

Very good value and close to beach

Comfortable, good location. The room gets a little warm at night but instead, bathroom is clean, patio is nice.

The family was nice because they helped us with a dog who was sick. The older lady was very nice and was willing to help the dog just because of this I liked this place even more. There was also monkeys on the balcony, which made it nice to animal watch.

We booked an a/c room but unfortunately the a/c did not work so it was very hot. The bathroom also had an extremely foul smell coming from the drains, which was not very pleasant and the wifi did not work on the third floor.

Great value for money with a super breakfast, medium sized basic but clean room and hot water showers. I felt very safe as a lone female traveller. Really sweet family run place. Great location, just opposite turtle beach and about 10-15 mins walk to the main beach.

This is not a place to work remotely as the internet was not the best and very sporadic.

Beautiful and clean room with great location close to the beach and restaurants. Wasn't humid inside, which was case with the most rooms at other places. Easy to find from the main street. Delicious Srilankan breakfast served by kind grandpa. Great host, helpful and communicative. We would definitely come back. :)

Beautiful room with a nice view! Not humid…which is hard to find in Sri Lanka

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Minara guest house. Definitely the nicest host you can find! Great, clean rooms, perfect breakfast, a nice little garden and just a short walk to the beach. The breakfast was really great, especially the Srí lankan breakfast which we had every morning. The variety of different Sri lankan dishes for breakfast was highlight and I would definitely recommend this stay especially for their exquisite breakfast. Special mention and thanks to Kumara who took care of us and other guests well.
