Shashin Lake Resort

Really nice family held little hostel. We were welcomed warmly with a glass of juice and they made us breakfast extra early as we needed to leave for safari. Overall lovely experience!

The view on the lake and the garden of the property are beautiful. We enjoyed this the most. There are only three rooms which keeps the place very quiet so you can really enjoy the nature surrounding you. The hosts and their family are very kind and do their best to make youfeel comfortable. The location is not very close to the center (30’ by foot to bus stand) but you can walk to the cave tempel from you doorstep.

We ordered lunch and dinner and unfortunately did not ask about the price (our fault). We were surprised by the relatively right prices of the meals (compared to what we experienced in the previous 2 months in Sri Lanka). Nevertheless the meals were very tasty and we were glad to be able to eat “at home”!

Very kind and friendly staff, clean room with strong fan, lovely peaceful location next to the lake and walking distance to the Cave témples.

Breakfast was really was really lovely - enjoyed eating looking over lake! Location was great, close to rock temples but on a peaceful backroad by a lake.

This family were so kind, honest and welcoming. We wished we could stay longer.

Location was very beautiful and very near to Dambulla temple. Clean and large rooms...very friendly owner specially the lady ..as we can't stay for breakfast she made a very nice sandwiches and banana packed and gave us...definitely recommended..
