The Studio

Good location with parking, comfortable bed (double), very clean, quiet.

Overnight was 4C but there was no central heating on in bedroom or bathroom (small electric heater in bedroom) - texted and used booking.com messaging to ask owner when heating comes on but they didn't answer the whole weekend which is awful - some heating came on at random times but for example woke up in a very cold bedroom and no heat in bathroom in early evening. Guests should control their own heating! Budget option but a bit tired and run down, just one office chair in bedroom and no bedside table, broken lock on bathroom door, old shower screen fittings in wall, noisy pipes, etc.

Odour of what I think was disinfectant was overpowering.

The privacy and the uniqnace, the little touches like microwave, toast, iron & board, storage and the books were a lovely touch.

This was exactly what I needed for a quick period of downtime between busy weeks. The Studio is compact but very comfy. Having the parking space was excellent, however actually parking was tricky because of the narrowness of the road with residents' cars all up one side. I was glad I don't have a very big car (Renault Scenic). There is a very handy small parade of shops/restaurants/takeaways about 5 minutes away. The Studio is very light. Absolutely not a problem for me, but at this time of year the lack of a blind on the semi-glazed front door or a functioning door to the hall means that the room is very light very early which for some people may be a problem.

I also fell victim to the shelf in the kitchenette area as I bent over to put something in the bin. (See previous reviews.) This is something that could very easily be rectified.
