Friendly welcome and very comfortable room. The evening meal was excellent and the service from Zoe and Hazel was tremendous.

Location was a little disappointing as the trains woke us early. We did expect a television in the room and this would be a welcome addition

Staff very friendly & helpful & extremely welcoming Lovely homely pub with excellent, top quality food & and hearty breakfast with lots of choice Room felt snuggly and was well heated as it was chilly We didn’t mind no TV but hadn’t noticed in the booking and might bother some people We liked the fact the trains made the room rattle - it made us laugh We would definitely stay again as long as the shower works

The shower didn’t do more than dribble and was unusable - we did mention it on check out and the lady said it could’ve been due to water issues in the village however I have seen other comments on here re shower so not sure? Couldn’t find a hairdryer in the room but as couldn’t shower wasn’t needed. Our room was much smaller than the other room but I believe same price

The pub was gorgeous, very tastefully decorated, cosy & clean. It had a romantic mood in the evening & a fresh, light & airy feel at breakfast. The bedroom was small but nicely decorated & clean. Overall, the food was outstanding & the staff friendly and lovely. Would definitely return.

The shower didn’t have enough power. The trains ran past the property all night.

Lovely location. Walking distance to a few beauty spots. Some lovely quaint villages nearby too. Close to Cuckmere and Seven Sisters. The food is exceptional. Rooms clean and modern.

The shower dribbled. The water was lukewarm the bed was uncomfortable there was no water in the room and for 136.00 a night I thought they bound have run to it

V comfy bed, lovely views of the Downs, spotlessly clean, good food. Great to have a jug of fresh milk available in a little fridge downstairs to take up to room. Above all very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. They went out of their way to make a self service continental breakfast available for us before their normal start time of 9.30, when we had to get to a funeral. Very convenient being next to the station and near the A27 for easy trips to Lewes, Newhaven, Brighton. Lots of interesting places to visit in the area

All good for us, but worth being aware of the breakfast time being from 9.30. We had plenty to read so it wasn't a problem for us, but also to note there is no TV in the room.

The bedroom was very clean and well presented.

There was no TV in the room which wouldn't normally be an issue but with no bar area downstairs it meant there was no areas to unwind after our meal.
