Beautiful king room in Leith Walk

Good location. Basic room. Clean. Friendly host. Comfortable bed.

Smelled of smoke. Stairs difficult. Uncomfortable with host sleeping in living room.

Mind you, the owner lives permanently in the apartment, guests get to use his single private bedroom and there is no other bedroom. The whole of the apartment is on the third floor, and the garden view is on a derilect and withered away brown patch of wasteland. It was really freezing cold, and when I asked the ever so friendly owner to turn on the heating, he did not. Of the three days we spent there he turned on the heating for just two hours. We spent most of the time there fully clothed shivering under the blankets. All in all, I think that the description of the accommodation in booking is misleadingly lacking and faulty.

Instead on the first floor which was presented in the Booking app, the appartment was on the top floor. So we had to walk a lot of stairs.

Friendly host, polite and welcoming but gives you space.

It was cheap. The host was welcoming.

Very basic student accommodation. Shared bathroom - toiletries stated but to share hosts. Host sleeping on sofa, which connected to kitchen so couldn't use it for a morning cuppa or when getting home. Tea making facilities are needed in room.No locks on bathroom or bedroom doors, even though sharing flat with host. No awareness this would be the case! Parking was not as described, certainly not £10 a day. Couldn't park for more than 4 hours during the day, which was £16 for that, so had to keep moving car. It is free over night until 8.30am.It is certainly not a beautiful king bedroom as stated. Luckily we were out most of the time sightseeing as we wouldn't have stayed there. Felt very uncomfortable sleeping there. Surprised this was available on Booking.com, more like Airbnb.

Very convenient location and the host was able to get back to you or answer questions in a swift manner. I felt safe as a solo female traveler and Nedeljko was very accommodating. The shower water pressure was great as well!

There was a gentleman that stayed on the bottom floor that knocked on my doors at strange hours asking for questions but nothing to be alarmed of. If you have heavy luggage and not able, the stairs might be of difficulty, but I managed just fine.

Loved the location in Leith - an interesting part of Edinburgh, with lots of restaurants and pubs.

The stairs. There were two lots of spiral stairs up to the flat. Also steep stairs up to the front door. The entrance and halls of the building were grungy and quite off putting, although once inside the flat, it was bright and clean.

Great location, 1min walk to Belfour Street Tram station which is then less than 10 minutes tram ride the city centre. The flat can also be accessed directly from the airport via tram with a roughly 45min trip. Bedroom was tidy, warm and cosy, bed was comfortable. No noise from outside at all, very quiet. Bathroom right next to it in great condition. Lots and lots of restaurants on this street, too.

Bedroom door didn't close properly, needs to be fixed. Other than that, it was a perfect stay!
