The Tottam Beach Hotel - Trincomalee

Lovely property, clean, comfortable and quiet.

Not a problem for me but it might bother some travellers that it is a bit out of town.

Location, location, location. Paradise beach, and hardly any other people. Very nice staff, they will try to make anything possible for you.

The hotel's location is highly desirable after due to its close proximity to the beach. The rooms are conveniently situated within a short walking distance. The grounds are well-maintained with beautiful palm trees, and there are facilities for washing and cleaning after a day at the beach. The breakfast was delectable and beautifully presented. The chef demonstrated exceptional culinary skills in crafting a delightful meal.

The upkeep of the accommodations was unsatisfactory. Despite being a relatively new resort constructed within the past few years, the shower heads in the bathrooms were obstructed and malfunctioning. The mattress was insufficiently comfortable due to its thinness, resulting in discomfort after an extended period of sleep. Additionally, there was an infestation of insects, including ants, on the bed.

A beautiful and quiet hotel with an impressive private beach! The rooms are very clean, and the staff is super helpful and attentive! The hotel-arranged Tuktuk driver, Raj, is great! His prices are very fair, and if you have multiple stops on your tour, he even waits for you, so you don't have to keep arranging a new taxi every time. :)

I really can't understand the positive reviews regarding the food. The food is excessively overpriced! You really don't get what you're paying for. At times, we were served just reheated string hoppers from the previous (?) day, old fish, and poor-quality fruit. Even though our breakfast was included in the price, it really didn't convince us. We basically just got frozen and then reheated stuff everyday. That was quite a bummer.

The location is amazing. Private beach. So beautifull. Wish i would have booked to stay longer! Good AC.

There were a lot of animals in the room. Mosquitos, frog, cockroach, ... It was okay for us but I can understand people do not like it. The shower need fixing.

Really nice place next to a beautiful beach! Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We recommend this place and if you stay here definitely have one dinner here, the chef is great!

We spent a good time at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very close to the beach and the rooms were comfortable. And the food was delicious.

We missed a minibar in the room and there could have been chairs to relax on the beach. Note that there are dogs on the property, I'm not sure if they are stray dogs or the hotel's, but sometimes strays enter the property.

The breakfast and dinner served were delicious and the staff was excellent! Great location — private beach to yourself.
