El Tabora Guest House

The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Colin the host is a warm and friendly man. The breakfast is great. The shower was hot. The walk to town takes around 15-20 minutes. We was beginning to walk after dropping our bags in early when Dave the night staff pulled Up beside us and gave us a lift in his VW camper van!

Nothing I didn’t like.

The big plus of this B&B is by all means its owner, incredibly kind and helpful, ready to give any host plenty of information about all sorts of sights, events, restaurants and transportation in Guernsey. The full English breakfast served in the morning is delicious and each guest can select their preferences. I strongly recommend Colin's fresh porridge, absolutely tasteful, healthy and yummy! The B&B is in a lovely neighbourhood, at about a 20-minute walk from the town centre and two bus lines run nearby. The price is also very low for Guernsey standards.

The general look of the whole B&B is rather dated or old-fashioned, like going back to England in the 70s or even earlier: not at all stylish but it has its own charm. All the furniture is very basic and a bit tired, our room was somewhat small but you cannot expect much more given the price. From the description on Booking, I had not understood the bathroom was not en suite, but shared with two other bedrooms: this needs to be better specified.

Le personnel etait d'une gentillesse ! Mention spéciale à Colin , the best! Lit tres confortable chambre équipée d'un micro onde et frigo !. Petit déjeuner excellent, bravo a Colin encore une fois le best !

La salle de bain mixte n'était pas hyper hyper propre mais ça va très bien pour quelques jours.

Location was brilliant, the breakfast was really nice+ being able to order the night before your breakfast was waiting for you.

There was a terrible smell of cleaning products.

Colin, the owner, is very kind and helpful. The possibility to leave luggage very early in the day is really useful.
