The Shoe Box cottage with allocated parking

The location was perfect. Very central to everything.

The shower was faulty, it was scalding hot and couldn't be adjusted. The bath shower was only a trickle so washing and showering was a challenge. There are no main lights in the upstairs bedroom and one of the blinds wouldn't stay down so the light came in early.

Great position in the town and near our friends and the parking is a great plus

We adored staying at the Shoebox Cottage for a weekend. The place was very clean when we arrived and had all the facilities we needed! Kate and Ben went above and beyond to provide such a beautiful place to stay in Melmesbury. Thank you so much!

Location was great, in the centre of town. Overall cute look with basics covered for our stay.

It was a bit tired, would benefit from refurbishment / painting away the peeling paint / floorboards nailed properly, blinds fixed. Difficult to find initially (just share the number or if it’s not numbered, the ones either side). Said they had a high chair and PowerPoint protectors for our toddler but didn’t.

It's a good value cottage for the money and parking spaces are like gold dust. It is a spacious cottage and a good lay out. It was close to village and fantastic pub .

It could be a really lovely cottage if it was given lots of TLC not major things but things that need addressing. Bit money spent on it and I would recommend. Shame owners don't seem to read because some issues go back a long way .

This is the second time we have stayed at the Shoe Box, it was my 50th birthday and I decided to book it again.

The toilet seat is still broken from when we stayed in 2022. We found stray tablets on the floor next to the bed, a worry as we had a dog! human hairs on the floor, the place needs a good clean!!!!

Stagnant drain smell in kitchen/living room and bathroom, dangerous stairs to top floor, dripping tap on bath, uneven flooring in kitchen in front of cooker, not very hot water or decent flow in small shower cubicle, towels provided like cardboard, lack of information concerning wifi, not really pet friendly due to no garden/outside area. No grout between tiles on bathroom floor. Upstand along worktop needs attention along with broken blind in living room. Due to all of these mostly minor issues I do not feel the cottage is worth the money paid. Definitely a new kettle needed as was full of limescale very off putting hence I boiled water in saucepan throughout my stay.
