"Was a good base for travelling to Cotswolds/Yate to see family."

7.0

Property was nice in a good location. Parking was some way away but still better than no parking!

Generally needed a deep clean and a bit of love. Second hand kitchen sponge with hairs stuck to it vs a brand new one for each guest wasn’t my favourite bit!

"Below bottom budget without the budget price tag."

1.0

I liked the location but that was it.

Cleanliness is a big issue here. The reviews that mentioned issues months ago still haven't been resolved. No care or attention to this place at all. The smell hits you when you walk in of alcohol, cigarettes, and general old standing unclean smell. Kitchen: Everything needed to be washed before use. No freezer. Kettle was not in a salvageable state. I had to boil water in a saucepan. Mould in the fridge. Oven was filthy and never been cleaned. Glasses were just a small collection from pubs. Washing up pad full of black bits and hair. Kitchen cupboard has things thrown in and an old hairdryer saying do not use caught fire. Lounge: stains on the sofa hidden by a blanket. No socket covers as stated No chocolate or cookies as stated. Left over party balloons in the box. Fold out dining table filthy with food and drink marks. Old tatty leaflets and magazines that are out of date and irrelevant. The blind is broken, and a pencil has been put on there with elastic band to pull down the blind. The floor downstairs hadn't been mopped, hoovered at the best! My little daughters socks were black! Bathroom: Old stains in the toilet, limescale all over the taps. A 1/4 full dirty bottle of Sainsburys economy conditioner as your Toiletries provided. Bath was dirty and unusable. The shower head for the bath didn't work and the shower was stuck on hot even after pressing in the little button to turn it cooler making it scolding my my little one. Bedroom 1: Hairs on the furniture and burnt iron marks on the table. Next to the radiator, there is a loose bit of wood covering broken down rocks/wall that was not secured and fell on my daughter. Cupboard was full of hard dried old towels and crap. Stair cupboards again full of crap, empty bottles old mugs everything just thrown in literally! Top bedroom ok on appearance, fan supplied was broken in half, empty drink cans and chocolate wrappers under the bed! Brown water leak marks running down the walls.

Location was good, the beds were comfortable. The whole place was very clean.

No washing machine, and parking is not close to the property.

"Happy with the property, not happy with the lack of communication"

8.0

The property was quaint and just the right size for our short stay. The house was clean and had all the facilities; a comfortable bed, decent shower and kitchen. It was very well well situated in the town, so you could walk everywhere easily. It had an allocated parking spot a 6 min walk away.

The main thing I found concerning is that contact with the owners was non-existent when we arrived. After an exhausting journey in high temperatures, we struggled to find the property, as the address was simply ‘West Street’. No number. I had a passenger suffering from the heat, so I phoned the contact number to quickly locate the property, but got no answer. I messaged the owners through Booking.com, but got no answer. As there was nowhere to park it was hard to search. Eventually we found it, but the plaque with the property name was tiny and illegible from a car window. I strongly suggest putting something like “opposite No4” in the details. I also tried to phone with a request for a late departure, but got no answer. I messaged through Booking.com and still got no answer. I’d be very concerned if there was a real crisis what we would have done.

"Very good"

> Comfortable beds > Very clean > Loved that we had proper TV channels rather than just streaming services > Location as very near the town.

> The car parking space is 1000 steps and two streets away, uphill! > No Microwave! > No Freezer, which was particularly annoying as it was very hot during our stay and we couldn't even put ice in our drinks. If the owners could change the fridge to one with a small freezer at the top, it would be very welcome. > Says sleeps 4, which technically with a double bed in both rooms it would, but 4 people could not cope in the very bijou area downstairs. It was fine for the 2 of us.
