The Shoe Box cottage with allocated parking

This little cottage is perfectly located to explore Malmesbury. The map sent by the owner made the parking easy to find. If you like cycling, walking, history and exploring, Malmesbury is just perfect. A step back in time, with a photograph around every corner. The people were so friendly. Lovely shower.

The china, cutlery and sink needed to be washed before use. Kettle desperately needs a descale. The paint could be touched up. Even though toiletries were promised, there was only hair conditioner.

The cottage was in the perfect location. Beautiful surroundings and excellent easy communication with hosts. The master bedroom was the best room in the property. The shower had excellent power.

The kitchen/lounge area badly needed aired and the windows were hard to reach to air it out. Couldn’t find an air freshener to help freshen it up. A bit smaller than expected - despite being named shoe box, photos made it look bigger.

Great location and lovely cottage. Comfortable and clean

We only marked it down as parking was a 5/6 minute walk away and it would have been nice to have an outside space to sit in. Overall it was great. Would absolutely recommend

Lovely cottage, comfortable beds, hot water, close to pubs and town, parking good

Only 1 saucepan, no dishes for the oven if you wanted to cook a meal. No handrail on the stairs and no safety catches on windows if you bring young children. No garden if you bring a dog

The property was cosy, we found it clean and comfortable. Overall it was central for the Abbey and Museum, also of an evening you could hear a pin drop.

We didn't like the parking arrangement . I am disabled and we also have a disabled dog, so it was difficult but despite that we enjoyed our stay. Had we known about the parking we may not have stayed, we are both in our 60s if younger it wouldn't have been an issue.

The owners are very responsive both before and during our stay. The allocated parking although some distance away gives certainty about parking in a congested area. Lock box worked well and so exact time of arrival can be at your own convenience and not fixed.

WE arrived in the evening tired and needing showers and general refreshing. There was NO HOT WATER, as it was getting late we went to bed but the boiler flashed an error code all night (the flashing light leaked easily into the bedroom) In the morning I rang a family member who deciphered the error code and we tried several re sets with no luck. I messaged the owners and it turned out the gas had been turned off due to lack of payment. It was sorted out quickly but shouldn't have happened.

Towels were hard Top floor bedroom needs safety barrier, very dangerous with children, huge drop from edge of floor.
