"If space and location is youre thing this is great!"

7.0

Good location and spacious with a nice feel to it. No parking issues and ample space. Right on the walkway to the lighthouse.

A lack of detail. No coffee, tea, etc. as is standard in all accommodation also no bath soaps etc. The kitchen equipment is not up to standard: it has the feeling that all old equipment from the main house is dumped in there. No matching or proper glases, and pots don’t have matching lids. Also the TV is not working as it should (Netflix etc). This can be an outstanding property if a little more attention is given to detail.

"Could be an excellent property but requires some work to the heating, and the bathtub really needs fixing. Some investme"

5.0

Good location, attractive interior. Relatively well equipped

Hot water wasn’t working when we arrived, so had no heating until late in the evening when a handyman struggled to fix the problem. No heating in one bedroom at all due to a heavily leaking pipe. Log burning stove was required, but we needed to buy sufficient wood from the local supermarket to last the evening. One of the bathrooms is equipped with a jacuzzi tub, and even though this wasn’t used by the group, the jets were sounding every 30 minutes through the night. This resulted in two of the group barely sleeping. The external terrace area, although not used, needs some clearing so it can be utilised by visitors in the summer.

"Dirty, Damaged, Damp and Dangerous,"

1.0

What did I like? I liked the phone call on the morning of arrival advising that there had been a flood in the downstairs bedroom and that one of the rooms wouldn't be available, considering all 8 family members were already packed and on our way, we had to make do and buy airbeds en route. I also liked it when the 'hosts' (Marion and Gerry?) arrived, they scratched their own car on the way into the property's gates, so rather arogantly they blamed it on my father in-law for parking his car incorectly outside the property. The phone calls at half 4 in the morning from Marion and Gerry were not answered but I did think this was rather considerate of them to check that we were all tucked up. **** (UPDATE - SINCE THE REPLY) **** I knew the host would comment on our phantom 'dog mess' and the 'mess' of the house, so I have actually got pictures of every room and the outside before we left - The host is a liar, see the new uploaded pictures, and for the prior warning that the room was flooded?!? The same morning we were to book in? that is not prior warning when reading previous reviews it states the same thing over and over again. THESE PEOPLE know there is a BIG problem with FLOODING and DAMP please scroll through the reviews and you will find many people complaining of the same thing! The advert states a maximum of 8 people, that's 8 not 6 perhaps you should revisit the advert, or even better just take it down. Oh, and I never spoke to the host, not even one word if they would have bothered to find out who booked the place then they would have found out. 1. Its dirty 2. Its damp 3. The downstairs room is wet or flooded 4. DO NOT BOOK Booking dot com need to really have a look at this property and get it removed! Please please read through the reviews throughly mainly the ones with actual comments and pictures, disgusting how this can be rented out.

The place was dirty, damp and dangerous. If you dared to touch anything inside, it would likely fall apart. Bed knobs, door handles, drawer handles, shower heads were either broken or just fell off, nothing inside was cleaned to a satisfactory standard, I felt obliged to wipe my feet when walking outside, driving home I felt grimy and in need of a good shower. In one of the bedroom drawers were a lovely pair of Y-fronts (see photos) I didn’t examine them closely enough to see whether they were worn or left as a complementary. In the living area was a large chest which was full of unknown items covered in mould. One of the chairs broke in to two pieces, once I picked myself up and looked at the aftermath it appeared to have been 'fixed' and glued several times over. The curtains were hanging on by threads (see photos) Considering it is supposed to be pet friendly there was broken glass found at the entrance to the building, loose stonework next to the pond and the rear of the property was just a storage area for broken furniture which had fallen apart like the rest. Also, note the small yappy dog (which is probably older than the building) happily roams around outside, every time I had to let my dog (Gizmo) out for a wee, I had to do a perimeter walk to ensure the small dog didn't become Gizmos dinner. A lot of the lights in the property needed new bulbs, one bulb was broken but just left in the socket dangling over one of the beds (see photos) In the bedding cupboard (not hard to find, just follow the stagnant smell) was a mix of dirty and old bedding/towels just left in a heap with the questionable “Clean” bedding. Overall a really upsetting and bad experience, the flooding (apparently discovered that morning) could not be helped I suppose, but the interior and overall cleanliness of the stables is an embarrassment to the beautiful building that it is and to the stunning surrounding area.

Beautiful accommodation, scenic views, lovely walks and a great little town on the doorstep. There were 5 adults and our dogs,, a very spacious place. My only very slight criticism was it was a cold blustery weekend and because the house is so large it took a lot to heat. I would definitely recommend.

The streets are extremely narrow which adds to the beauty of the place but also made finding it difficult, our satnav took us to a back street which in a large vehicle was impossible to turn around in so we had to reverse all the way back. Do your research on Google earth first! We didn't 🙄

"Good base for our mini lakes holiday."

9.0

All bedrooms en-suite, house was warm and cosy when we arrived. Beds were comfortable. Great alternative for us to booking into a hotel.

I was told that the house would be open, which it was, and the bedroom keys would be in the doors. However, only one bedroom was open and we then had to go on a bit of a treasure hunt to find the keys to open the other bedrooms. It didn’t spoil our stay but was a bit odd!
