That the owners were u understanding when I pointed out the cleaners did not clean the property properly.. As I spoke to them when I couldn't get into the property as I didn't look on booking for code properly.

The bedroom was large....double and single bed. The kitchen was well equipped.

Great location for exploring local area. Quite neighborhood.

Could do with a few small touches to greatly improve accommodation, e.g only one mirror in the whole place, adding a mirror in the bedroom would make hair drying a lot easier. Replace fridge which is always iced up in the freezer.

The location is great a short drive to Sunderland Aquatic Centre (15min) and Seaham beach (5mins). The beds were very comfortable, the shower was hot (although pressure could be better) and the property was clean enough for us. The facilities were all there for our two night stay. It was ideal for what me and my daughter needed. It was warm comfortable and had a homely feel. The kitchen was well kitted out with kettle, toaster, electric oven, gas hob, microwave fridge and washing machine. Free WiFi and controllable central heating was great !.

As other reviewers have said, Property could do with redecorating and a deep clean, but would not stop us staying again. Some care and attention would make this place a gem, large Cobwebs on the ceiling in the lounge and bathroom is not a good look!.

"Ideal for Seaham trips, comfy and clean enough."

7.0

The three things I care about most are: comfy beds, warm shower and cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was very hot (although pressure could be better) and the property was clean enough for us. The facilities were all there for our week long stay. It was ideal for what we needed really. Towels were provided (we brought our own anyway), all cooking utensils and such were there, hand soap and washing up liquid provided. Area was quiet, we only saw one neighbour throughout our stay. Location was ideal for trips to Seaham and a 30 min drive to Newcastle. Plenty of supermarkets within a 10 minute drive, as well as a gym and shops.

The bin situation was a bit ridiculous. There were piles of rubbish bags in the yard, the wheelie bins were full and the recycling wheelie bin was screwed shut, not the best system. Also needed more than the 2 bin bags provided for our stay. Property could do with redecorating and a deep clean. Some care and attention would make this place lovely. If you are used to hotel standard this isn’t for you. For example, we moved a bed away from the radiator as it was blocking the heat and there was rubbish down the side. Despite this we would stay again, just hope the owner takes reviews into consideration.

"If your standards are high it's not for you. If you want somewhere to stay on a budget go for it."

7.0

My second stay and I still think it's good value for money. The location is great a short drive to Seaham and the beach. It was warm comfortable and had a homely feel. The kitchen was well kitted out with kettle, toaster, electric oven, gas hob, microwave fridge and washing machine which was handy and I took a little box of washing powder with me. Free WiFi and controllable central heating which was essential with the cold snap we had.

I'd be happy to stay again as I don't mind doing a bit of cleaning. My partner wasn't as keen to visit again. It was clean and tidy on my last visit and I was perplexed by some of the reviews I read. This time it wasn't so clean. The bedding was clean and fresh but the cutlery and plates cups and glasses were quite grubby. There wasn't any washing up liquid and it looked like everything had been rinsed, there were food residues and fingerprints.. We had to wash it all the first evening. There were dirty cloths and sponges in the dish drainer. The bath looked a bit grubby and there were brown stains on the bottom of the shower curtain. The bin outside was screwed shut and there were full bin bags in the yard from the previous occupier. When we packed on the last day I could find my watch. Looking for it we found loads of dust tissues and a mask under the chairs and the beds. I think the place is given minimal attention between stays and you are really at the mercy of the previous occupiers regarding the state the place will be in on arrival. If your standards are very high it probably not for you. If your budget is tight and you want a crash pad or don't mind giving the place a once over if needed, I'd say give it a go.

"Perfect for my needs and I love traditional Sunderland Cottages"

7.0

I was delighted that there was enough room for my daughter and myself. It was cheaper than getting two rooms in a hotel. I found myself in a rabbit hole online researching the censuses from 1900 and looking at the families that had lived there over the last 100 or so years

Just an attention to detail on the cleaning however I was expecting it after the reviews I read and I wasn’t massively bothered
