"Location close, but damp/musty smell"

3.0

The property is very close to the centre of Lyme Regis and was clean. The Strawberry Tree tapas is a must! The coffee pod machine was a nice touch.

I have never written a bad review, but unfortunately the property smelled damp. I stayed here with my dad and noted the musty/damp smell when we arrived. We hoped the smell would dissipate after airing but it persisted. I contacted the Lyme Regis property management company and they were very prompt and helpful, though the negative air/industrial air filter they used unfortunately didn't correct the issue. The outlook of the property was not what we expected, the property is directly faced by Cleve cottage so the property and front garden is overlooked. There is also a right of way which runs by the front door so other people were walking past the front door (which was open to help air the space). The welcome bag was very disappointing, it contained x2 individual biscoff biscuits, X2 mini packet of love heart sweets, a sponge and dish cloth. As other reviews mention, the bathroom is small and the shower is tight. Overall I am disappointed in how much the property cost given the damp/musty smell.

"Unbeatable location and comfortable cottage"

9.0

Fantastic location and incredibly well equipped - with everything you would need for a family holiday (including a picnic set, games and a fully equipped kitchen). Being so close to the beach and with a parking space made this such an ideal place to stay.

There was very little not to like. The shower is a bit temperamental but this didn’t bother us while we were there. Other than that, it’s a perfect small bolthole for exploring the area.

"Pleasant property close to the seafront but has a few shortcomings"

6.0

Close proximity to the seafront & shops Reasonably well appointed & comfortable Pleasant to be in Private parking is a godsend so long as others respect it.

Property is a lot smaller than the website photos indicate. We took a combination of suitcases & bags & there was very little room to put the cases anywhere. Best to take overnight bags. The shower cubicle is incredibly small, I'm 5ft 11" & reasonably slim but could only shower with the doors open, its difficult, larger people & anyone with balance issues will struggle. Bathroom fan ventilation grill hadn't been cleaned in a long time as well as the gap at the side of the shower cubicle where it meets the pipework boxing, it is a small gap but could do with attention. Small bedroom - room light wasn't working at all , however, a Sykes Holidays maintenance operative turned up to another property a couple of days after we arrived & kindly rectified the problem on request, all the same this should have been picked up. Otherwise the only light in that room was a small reading lamp attached to the bedhead. Location of the cottage is surrounded by similar old properties & the close proximity to the seafront means that you are plagued with seagulls which make noise 24/7, (yes, that does include during the night although not as bad as in the day). Take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Its a good idea to take some car cleaning products as the seagulls take great pride in using your car for target practice I managed to remove most of the mess but my vehicle still needs a valet. I have an average size SUV & the way into the property via Monmouth Street is very tight. Expect to do quite a bit of manoeuvring when parking & exiting.

"Enjoyable"

9.0

Quirky cottage with absolutely everything you need. Amazing location. Clean and warm.

Probably the smallest shower I’ve ever stood in but it was warm and easy to use. Finding the property in the dark was fun- there are two parking areas with gravel- you need the right hand one. And there isn’t a gate but it’s as it says, it is left of the parking zone.

"Bro, pleasant"

9.0

I like the cottage very much beds are very comfortable. Everything you need for a stay very pleasant.

Did not like the shower very small actually I’ve never been in such a small shower. I could hardly move and I’m not big. I think a big person would never get into it. Very poor shame because the place is lovely.
